How the Easy Life Can Destroy You
There’s a post I saw this week that really struck me and it goes like this:
“Strangely, life gets harder when you try to make it easy.
Exercising might be hard, but never moving makes life harder.
Uncomfortable conversations are hard, but avoiding every conflict is harder.
Mastering your craft is hard, but not having no skills is harder.
Easy has a cost.”
For some reason, I couldn’t help but think about all of the times in my life when I opted for the easier way out, the path that avoids conflict, challenge, and hardship while only gearing myself to comfort and easy times.
As a high-school student, I cheated my entire way to get by, and that easiness brought me the hard reality that no university had offered me admission even though I applied to a lot of places. The easy path didn’t help me prepare for that moment when it counted.

Splash House Expands to Three Weekends
Since 2013, Splash House has established itself as one of the countryâs most sought-after festivals, fusing forward-thinking electronic music, poolside partying, and resort amenities alongside the desert landscapes of Palm Springs. Splash Houseâs community and influence has grown wildly over the years, yet has retained the intimate magic of its debut weekender all those years ago. In turn, Splash House will be hosting its first triple weekend season in 2022, touching down June 10-12, August 12-14, and August 19-21.
Spread across three resort venues all with their own unique feel, fans are transported to multiple eras of Palm Springs aesthetic history just within the festivalâs footprint. Thereâs the mid-century stage facade and billowing banners of The Saguaro, the poolside tiki jungle and A-frame of Margaritaville, and the breezeblock architecture and sprawling shade of the Renaissance.
Ticket Fraud: Is Blockchain the Future of Ticketing?
Imagine you are trying to buy tickets to a sold-out show. Your only option is to buy on the secondary market. You bought the ticket for three times the face value and there are no guarantees the ticket you bought is actually a valid ticket. It’s now the night of the show and you get to the door, and your ticket doesn’t scan. This type of fraud (ticket scams) is the worst feeling for any music fan. You cannot get into the show, and even worse, you cannot get your money back from the scammer because they have disappeared. How does the music industry combat fraud at this point? The answer may actually come in the form of blockchain ticketing.

The Concert Ticket Industry is Still in Chaos
As far anyone can remember, the ticketing process for music events has long been a problematic one. Sadly, it has only gotten worse over the years, even with the available technology that, supposedly, should be able to address these issue effectively.
A recent article published in Vulture shed a spotlight on this longstanding issue and how it has adversely affected not only the ticket vendors and event promoters, but even the artists themselves. As such, the continuing debacle raises important questions that need to be addressed. Why do artists still have to comb through their own tickets sold to determine their authenticity? Who is to blame for all this mess? And what have state and federal authorities done so far to prevent behaviors that prevent actual fans from buying tickets and, more importantly, how effective are they?
