Coachella Covid-19

Coachella Nixes COVID-19 Requirements for Masks and Proof of Vaccination

This year’s Coachella will not require attendees to wear masks or provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19. The event issued a statement on its website saying in part, “There is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to Covid-19.” The music event industries have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19. Coachella’s recent decision could represent the global trend for other events and promoters.

Echostage Best Club

Echostage Voted No.1 as World’s Best Club

Clubs have had a rather quiet 16 months, and some have even sadly shut down their doors permanently. Even as clubs around the world have announced plans to stay closed until November, thanks to nightlife’s solidarity some stages have been able to survive the economic slumber. Venues have turned to outdoor dining spaces while others have opened their doors to epic live streams. While ravers look forward to the return of clubbing, these clubs are ready to have you.  Where to go first? Why not Echostage? It was voted as No.1 World’s Best Club via DJ Mag. Read more

Music Venues & Nightclubs At Risk of Closing Permanently by End of 2020

Electronic music artists have been struggling to stay afloat this year because of COVID-19. There’s been a lack of government help within the music industry, and at times, administrations have suggested artists find new jobs. What about the places musical artists would play each weekend? What’s going on with them? Without additional financial help throughout the end of the year, music venues and nightclubs are at risk of closing permanently, and some already have. While some have found ways to keep the lights, for how much longer can they serve as art galleries or as a dining option?

UK Chancellor Refuses To Aid Struggling Artists During COVID-19

How would you like it if someone told you your job was expendable? Thanks for coming, but you’re not needed anymore. These may not have been the exact words UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak said in a recent interview, but what he said certainly didn’t inspire confidence in the government’s intention to help struggling artists during COVID-19. He encouraged artists to consider “new opportunities” that will be made available through government resources. “I can’t pretend that everyone can do exactly the same job that they were doing at the beginning of this crisis,” said Sunak. The UK has already lost almost 750,000 jobs since the start of the pandemic, and the UK Chancellor expects that number to grow.

Resources For American Artists and Nightlife Professionals Affected by COVID-19

Nightlife professionals and artists, you’re not alone. We have all been hit hard by the forced lockdown and closures mandated to combat COVID-19 and it sure seems like the next few months are not going to get any easier. Stay positive though, because together we must help one another to make it through all these obstacles thrown at us. It is with this in mind that we are sharing key resources for American artists and nightlife professionals affected by COVID-19 in this article.

In the last week and a half the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 has changed the way we live in unimaginable ways, and the nightlife scene in the United States, and our home in Los Angeles in particular, have been suffering since. While whole sectors of the local, state and country-wide economy are affected, there is no doubt that the entertainment, film, hospitality and nightlife industries are some of the worst-hit by the indefinite lockdown measures now in place to “flatten the curve” and mitigate the spread and death toll of the virus. We aren’t in a confirmed recession yet, but it will surprise no one once we officially are.
