Artists will never come unprepared to a party. They always bring a toolbox packed with tracks that are truly dance floor destroyers. âWhatâs in Your Toolboxâ features artistsâ secret weapons, aka, the tracks they donât leave out of their USB. This installment of Whatâs In Your Tool Box features, Ben Sterling.
Cementing himself as one of the most innovative minds to emerge from Londonâs ever-evolving underground circuit, Ben Sterling is a veritable groove technician whose area of expertise lies in blurring the lines between house and techno. Heâs earned plaudits from some of the most trustworthy tastemakers in the industry, with a list that includes the Martinez Brothers, Marco Carola, Eats Everything, Jamie Jones, and Patrick Topping, to name a few.
Ben Sterling just dropped his latest release ‘Eeez’ on UK imprint Factory 93 for his label debut, with the release racking in early love from Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Nic Fanciulli, Joseph Capriati, and many more – following up on his huge single ‘All Over My Body’ on Solomun’s Diynamic. With a solid run of shows across the US later this year incl. his debut at HARD Summer, here are some choice tracks you can expect to hear from Ben Sterling.
Ben Sterling – Apathetic Behavior (Original Mix)
This track is one of the records I made that will never get old. Releasing on Hot Creations was such a big moment and part of my career. Youâve definitely heard me drop this in a ton of sets; it always goes off, especially on the Space Terrace in Miami.
Get Fukced – Last Night A DJ Fukced Your Wife
This is one of my favourite records from my favourite producers of all time, the late Nathan Coles. He was always someone who inspired me and what I make. My sound has so many elements from the 90s and early days of tech house, and this was one of my favourite records that came out around that time that goes off in my sets today.
El Prevost – Allez Ally (Shonky Remix)
Iâve been dropping this one regularly for a few years. Itâs a CRAZY tool from the groove master, Shonky. This one never fails.
The System â- Youâre In My System (Kerri Chandler Remix)
Kerri Chandler has inspired so much of what I do. This is one of my main staple closing records from my sets. It always closes the party on such a high note! This record is timeless.
Unknown Artist – TXXIC [XFILES]
âTXXICâ is my favourite record from the XFiles Unknown Artist series. The edit is super powerful and always leaves clubs and festivals shaking!
Rossi. – Get on the Floor
A brand new one from my boy Rossi.! The groove on this record is crazy, and itâs one of the main tracks rocking the dancefloor in my sets right now.
