ULTRA Worldwideâs esteemed underground concept RESISTANCE has evolved into a global powerhouse of underground curation since its inception in 2015, from programming stages at Ultra events in 35 cities internationally to organizing tours across Latin America and Asia. In 2017, RESISTANCE debuted its first-ever residency in Ibiza at the worldâs largest nightclub Privilege, and has since welcomed house and techno heavyweights from around the world. The following year, RESISTANCE Ibiza was awarded the coveted title of âBest Ibiza Night 2018â by DJ Awards in its sophomore season. Read more
Claptone is an enigmatic presence. His Venetian guise, black attire, golden-beaked mask, and white gloved hands complete the mystique that continues to draw sophisticated crowds from all over the world. The artist celebrated his sold out âThe Masqueradeâ events at AFAS LIVE at ADE, Zamna, Tulum and SLS Hotel during Miami Music Week, along with what Miami New Times called a massive set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.Â
Highly anticipated Ultra Music Festival returns this weekend and features a fire lineup across the board. Female techno DJs Nala, Ann Clue, Anfisa Letyago, Amelie Lens, Giorgia Angiuli, Nina Kraviz, and Sama’ Abdulhadi are debuting at UMF’s RESISTANCE Stage. Whether up and coming stars or established names, these women are setting the stage for more inclusive representation in the electronic music festival scene. Some share a few thoughts about becoming better artists in a man’s world.Â
Anfisa Letyago has positioned herself as one of the most influential DJâs / Producers within the dance music industry. After moving from Siberia to Naples at the age of 18, she has since released her productions on a list of high calibre labels including Drumcode, Kompakt and Rekids. Anfisa decided to challenge herself artistically at the beginning of 2021, with the announcement of her new label N:S:DA, a name taken from âNisidaâ – the Neapolitan island inaccessible to man. In January she launched the label with her debut EP Listen, followed up in April with âNISIDAâ.
In 2019 Miami saw the rebirth of one of its most iconic brands, Winter Music Conference (WMC). In 2020 the legendary WMC celebrates its 35th anniversary as the longest-running conference of its kind. The annual gathering that helped give birth to an entire industry from its humble beginnings back in 1985 is now stronger than ever with a renewed sense of purpose and direction. Under the umbrella of Miami Music Week (MMW), the Winter Music Conference will return to The Faena Forum on Miami Beach, March 16-20, 2020 with even more updates, panels, demos and insightful programming that will bring together a new generation of industry professionals and music consumers for a week of unforgettable experiences.
Fyre Festival not only sparked headlines around the world, but also multiple documentaries about the fiasco, exposing the festival for the massive fraud we’ve grown to know it for. It will forever be known as the worst festival ever, for a while at least. Only intentionally can a festival stoop any lower than what Billy McFarland “created”.
Ever since that day, however, we have seen the name “Fyre Festival” come up in headlines, comparing the travesty to another festival. We’re seeing it more often these days and the comparison is the complete opposite of flattering. In the vast majority of these instances, the phrase is an unreasonable and inaccurate attempt to ruin a festival’s reputation. What we’re seeing is that festival goers will use the slur at the drop of a hat if inconvenienced the slightest. That’s a problem, and if you were at Governors Ball in New York this weekend or know someone on social media who was, chances are you couldn’t avoid hearing it Sunday and today.
RESISTANCE, Ultra Worldwideâs esteemed underground concept, has come a long way since its Ultra debut as a single stage in 2015. With Ultra Music Festival 2019 around the corner, RESISTANCE has announced that it will be returning to Miami this year with its most ambitious plans yet.
Following the news that Ultra Music Festival officially moved to its new venue at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park & Miami Marine Stadium, RESISTANCE has revealed that it will have its own island, taking over the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park side of the venue for the weekend. This comes as a significant upgrade as the concept will have more space and hours to use than ever before. The festival will officially run from 2pm – 2am on all three days.
Winter Music Conference (WMC), now under the Ultra Worldwide umbrella and set to take place March 25-28, 2019 at the Faena Forum, Miami Beach, has now announced its initial media partners, brand partners and programming.
WMC Media Partners include technology news and media network The Verge, Grammy.com/The Recording Academy and its charity MusiCares, Mixmag who will host their popular live âLabâ event from the Faena rooftop, Billboard Dance, Data Transmission, Attack Magazine, EDM.com, DJ Mag Asia, Belgium, France, Latin America, Switzerland and UK, and Magnetic Magazine.
ULTRA China Beijing will make its much-anticipated debut on September 15 and 16 this year, as the two-day festival comes to life for the first time. Having first taken shape as a club takeover back in June, the event will now take place in full flow at the illustrious NHC Base in Beijing.
To accompany the announcement, ULTRA Beijing has dropped a stunning lineup, awash with superstar electronic talent. Afrojack, Armin van Burren, Axwell Î Ingrosso, DJ Snake, Galantis, Nicky Romero, Oliver Heldens, Steve Angello, Tchami and Zedd will take on the Main Stage in what will be a jubilant celebration.
RESISTANCE will once again have a strong presence at ULTRA China Beijing with Christian Smith, Eats Everything, John Digweed, Marco Bailey, Nicole Moudaber and Popof all slated to play, adding yet another notch on the belt of the internationally successful concept.
