Swann, the founder of Paris-based label Curiosity Music, is a DJ and producer who distinguishes himself by his open-minded style navigating deep, minimal and tech house, with a predilection for hypnotic loops and sound waves.
Born in Las Vegas and raised in Southern Oregon, Krista Bourgeois first became acquainted with music when she took piano lessons as a child. As a young adult, she picked up the cello but was constantly told that music would never offer her a suitable career. It was only in college that she took a leap of faith and quit studying computer science to pursue a degree in music production and audio engineering instead.
Unconventional methods have shaped Krista’s output. Her industrial soundscapes often degrade into raw and dystopian textures. TyCo London‘s passion for house music and techno began very early on when he discovered his love of music in the London clubbing and raving seen in the late 80’s early 90’s where he dedicated his time as a DJ and clubber. He would spend hours in record shops in Soho, sifting through vinyls, listening to hundreds of records, and discovering artists which led him to have such a large collection of music. SOHMI has quickly gained a reputation for her nuanced and emotive brand of DJing, which has pushed her into becoming the first Korean woman to be named a resident at LA’s premier underground house and techno club, Sound. All her years of musical training have prepared SOHMI to be the electronic force that she is today. Musically, SOHMI draws inspiration from R&B and UK pop/garage cuts of the ’90s and early 2000s by artists like Aaliyah, Cassie, and Craig David.
