Premiere: Simina Grigoriu Takes on a Raw Approach on her “Una” EP

Simina Grigoriu takes on a raw approach on her Una EP, an energy-brimming three-piece centered around a dark techno power anthem, with remixes by Toronto talent Jade and Minus crew member Carlo Ruetz.

From “Una”’s boilerplate dark intro we’re guided into a symphony of arpeggiated strings layered on top of one another, stirring emotions to a whole new level. Adding to the rising tension are impish voices, channeling both the seraphic and the hellish opposites of the supernatural spectrum.

Premiere: Listen to Joyfull Family’s Sweet Summer Anthem “All About the Jazz” From Flexi Vibe’s Latest V/A Compilation

Shadows lengthen, the nights heat up, and Flexi throws down the new Piada Vibes. Like any Italian dish the ingredients are simple and effective (let’s say Piadina Romagnola)!

On the A side, experience the salty smooth blend of DJ Rocca’s acid, a cosmic cocktail that’s sure to take the listener to higher planes, followed by Capofortuna simmering live mix of Ricky Cardelli and Rame with amazing “Color Club”, before the A side draws out with Joyfull Family’s sweet summer anthem, “All About the Jazz”.

Premiere: Dubspeeka Contributes Remix for Monkey Safari’s “Odyssey Remixed” Second Outing

What makes everybody’s darling duo Monkey Safari so special is surely their authenticity; with their striking debut album Odyssey , this meant producing the same kind of tracks they were playing as they toured nightclubs and festivals around the world, rather than simply a listening album. The result was a dance floor artwork. And while they may be perfectionists, they’re certainly no purists, carefully handpicking remixers they see as most capable of continuing their vision for the album.

Split in 3 separate EPs, Odyssey Remixed – One, Two, and Three will be released in May, June, and July 2018, featuring reworks of the original album tracks by the master himself, Carl Cox, international stars Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Musumeci, Tensnake and Reboot, studio geniuses Dubspeeka, Hannes Bieger, ROD, and Phil Moffa, as well as up-and-coming talent Avidus , Trivmph , and Hommage label co-chief Karl Friedrich.

Premiere: Kafim Contributes “Kisin (Metnal)” to Form and Function’s Latest V/A EP

Form001 presents a compilation of 4 transcendent cuts, that perfectly fit into the sound that Form and Function embodies, though with a different approach in mind.

On the A-side, Kafim starts the exploration with “Kisin”. The trancey bassline that dictates the pace of this track, combined with a variety of distinctive sounds, make it sound almost otherworldly. As it defies the ideas of a vast structure, this trip almost seems to continue to an infinite space before it fades out.

Kafim brings dark and ruff techno sets with a predilection for groove. Resident DJ at the well known Deep in House parties in Belgium, he shaped his particular style meticulously. The Brussels-based artist has a background in classical music, having played the piano and sung in a choir. During his teenage years, Kafim quickly became hooked on the electronic scene by firstly dabbling with drum’n’bass before finally getting comfortable with techno.

His remixer, Ben Champell, gave it a much darker touch. Ben is debuting on Jannowitz Records with his remix after releasing on labels like Ballroom Music and Blufin Records and mixing a Jannowitz podcast some weeks ago in the past.
