On July 15th 2022, Anetha will release the second seismic compilation on her label Mama Told Ya titiled Contre tout, toutes et tous, la terre demeure â the release comes just one year after ‘Lâeau repousse les feux agressifs’. As for the label, Mama Told Ya is a young label with a creative engine for research, experimentation, and new mixtures.
The label primarily focuses on sharing and collaboration, with the ambition to get each artist out of their comfort zone, (including Anetha herself). In order to strive for greatness, the label exclusively promotes alternative artists who are ready to collaborate, challenge each other, and go beyond comfortability.
Flow Music is a record label with a new release that features a remix from Super Flu along with original music by Aeyem â Â a multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Melbourne, Australia. He is also a talented DJ who performs regularly at festivals and other large events in his home country. On Flow Music, this is his first official release.
The East Coast is being introduced to another festival on the rise â Slingshot Festival. The event made headway for 5 days in May (May 8, 13-15) in Downtown Durham with quite a selection of DJs. If youâre a North Carolinian, or someone that lives on the East Coast with little to no electronic music events, then Slingshot probably caught your radar. With Slingshot also returning in October 2022, East Coast ravers in North Carolina will have something to look forward to as it stands as one of the few events that take the electronic music scene with serious dedication.
As it stands, the event is no doubt something that is much needed within the southern community of N.C. â diversity, inclusivity, change, and electronic cultural appreciation; this all makes Slingshot an unforgettable event that will catch the East Coast by storm.
I attended Slingshot the weekend of May 13th and it was my first time raver experience. As a North Carolinian myself, I can honestly say that Slingshot is more than a festival for the south… it’s a cultural shift. Of course, I don’t want to paint a skewed picture of North Carolina as being non-progressive, that simply isn’t true. The RDU (Raleigh, Durham) area (and honestly the rest of the state) definitely has a deep culture of appreciating the arts (e.g., many movies have been filmed in Wilmington) â I myself, even graduated from a Liberal Arts College. But the fact remains that art/music culture within N.C. still has many conservative undertones, and to have a festival such as Slingshot come in with such strong inclusivity, diversity, and change is kind of rare. And to see that many of the locals were immeshed within Slingshot’s vibrancy is an even better view to see, as many North Carolinians such as myself have a desire to see more inclusive, artistic changes within the area and the state.

Being a shy person in real life, she uses music as an outlet to express and connect with human emotions while taking listeners on a profound trip through a myriad of colorful experiences and feelings.
Adapter (aka Antonio Russo) always leaves you with the feeling of âwhatâs next?â From an early age, he has always had an uncontrollable passion for music, especially for percussion and the piano. He is no stranger to the styles of 80s and 90s music, as he has always appreciated music from those years. Even now, his style is influenced by the 80s and 90s, and it is also a combination of the past and the present since he has a knack for experimenting with both time-loops.
His style of old-school disco combined with modern influences have led him to be known as one of the most talented producers within the underground scene, as well as earning him releases on Hot Creations, Black Book, and Catch & Release.
