Moby Releases Album Via Satirical Anti-Trump Press Release

That Moby does not approve of Donald Trump shouldn’t come as a surprise, nor should the fact that he has used his hard stance against the current President of the United States to announce his latest LP.

Available now for download, More Fast Songs About The Apocalypse is the second album to come from Moby’s band, Void Pacific Choir following their debut with These Systems Are Failing. The announcement on the release came through a satirical White House press release in the form of a video by John Miller, “a publicist that Donald Trump invented in the 1980s to speak to reporters on the phone.”

Moby on Donald Trump, “He Is The Worst Of The Worst”

Donald Trump Moby

It’s no surprise to see Moby voice strong opinions on politics. After all, the American DJ, singer, songwriter and producer is known for his electronic music, veganism and support of animal rights, always quick to speak up for beliefs he holds true to his heart.

After earlier comments on the subject of Donald Trump, Moby once again went on record labeling the Republican Presidential candidate as “the worst of the worst,” although he is noted that he is satisfied that at least Trump’s divisive antics have seemed to unify the Democratic party under the leadership of Hillary Clinton.

In a recent interview with Best Fit, Moby stated, “He is a cancer scare for cigarette smokers – he has got Democrats and progressives and the left in the United States motivated and united in ways they have never been before. He is a one man Vietnam War. I’m grateful for that – for being so terrible. If he was less terrible he would be scaring us less and we might be less motivated.”

He went on to say, “Donald Trump is the worst of the worst of the worst – he’s an entitled, ignorant sociopath who maligns women, minorities, veterans, disabled people, and just look at the recent debate. The only world leaders he praised were Putin and Assad.”

Trump’s outlandish and controversial claims have often landed him on the front of newspapers, with a divided country both supporting and denouncing his every word. Regarding that, the LA-based artist stated, “this feels like bizarre, mescaline-inspired, weird, Hunter S. Thompson-esque fiction. I just can’t believe that this is real, but then he just keeps getting worse. He keeps digging himself further into this trench of manure. It’s mind boggling.”

With Election Day in the United States on November 8, Moby is definitely not the first electronic music artist to speak up with his views against the Republican candidate.

Discover Five DJs That Have Said “No” to Eating Meat

It is no secret that traveling takes a lot of energy out of touring DJs. Jet lag, lack of sleep, after-parties, airport delays and hours spent on planes definitely do not help, so it comes as no surprise that artists need to ensure they are well fed throughout their tours.

Yet, despite the often lackluster options of airport or plane food, there’s a selection of world-touring DJs who have not only continued to say “no” to meat and other animal products, but have provided useful tips on how to live on the road while maintaining a vegan or vegetarian diet.

It appears that the darkness of techno has no bearing on one’s dietary choices. In fact, our selection of five outspoken vegetarian/vegan DJs includes not one but three CLR recording artists.
