We sat down with Mauro Somm (25 years old based in Buenos Aires, Argentina) for an interview to dig  out more about him personally and his work. What is the information we got of him so far? An artist full  of passion and love for music who through the years was able to show a wide range of different styles of techno.
Born and bred in the Welsh city of Swansea, the now London-based brother duo Trutopia (aka Ashleigh and Kristian) are taking the house scene by storm. Bringing their own take on creating classic house music combined with their own elements, it’s no surprise that they’ve been internationally recognized as being a serious house duo within the scene. From consistently releasing labels such as Strictly Rhythm, Nervous Records, and many more, as well as gaining support from the likes of Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, and amassing over 2 million streams on Spotify, the duo shows no sign of slowing down.
As residents of Ibiza Rocks, Trutopia have been shaking up the dancefloors in Ibiza, the UK, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Amsterdam with their top selections and infectious stage presence. Notably, they live by their motto of “keep it moving” â and, that is exactly what you can expect them to be doing in the foreseeable future. As of late, the duo has released their single Lights Off on Get Physical alongside Greta Levaska.
VTCR, aka Victor Cros, is a 30-year-old French artist. After years of traveling through clubs and European festivals, he finally launched into mixing, and especially into his own musical production at the beginning of 2022. Being totally unknown to the general public, he relies heavily on his first EP released on the San Diego-based label: it’s just noize records, to be able to give him the chance to make himself known, and to be able to really embark on future musical projects like the live shows he’s played in the last couple months. These compositions are focused on Tech-house, but his style is divided between Progressive-house, Tech-house, and Techno.
Suleiman is a gem of a record label that has been running since 2016 with a sound that floats between deep techno and minimal house. Its release schedule is slow and steady with a focus on quality rather than quantity, and this is reflected in a roster of artists that include Cesare vs Disorder, Kris Wadsworth, Pheek, Onur Ozman, Robert Babicz, and many others of equal caliber. The record label has also featured music from its Canadian owner Darem Aissa and the most recent offering from the label is the EP Magnificent Madness by German artist Mathias SchaffhaÌuser.
Hottrax is a well-established record label run by Jamie Jones and itâs the imprint that first introduced Patrick Topping to the world. The record label is a stripped-back and techy sibling to Hot Creations, which is Jamie Jones’ other label project. Now, the latest Hottrax release comes from the Italian artist Lorenzo De Blanck.
After a tumultuous couple of years of rough waters, Whet Travel is back for a 19th season and 35th sailing of Groove Cruise as the worldâs original and largest floating electronic music festival. Between January 19th and 23rd, 2023, the award-winning luxury cruise ship, Celebrity Summit, will welcome aboard party âcaptainsâ as it sets sail for the trip of a lifetime, from Miami to Labadee.
In early February of this year, PolyRhythm presented their remake of Sade’s “Cherish the day”, now they are back with a remake of Sade’s 1986 classic “Is it a crime” with Sheleah Monea showcasing a melodic rendition.
After the very well received ‘Missing EP‘ supported by Joseph Capriati, Funk DâVoid, Benjamin Damage, Stefan Weise, Temudo, Drumcomplex, Cristian Varela, Takaaki Itoh, Dj Tag, and many more, Piotr Figiel enters 2022 with ‘White Lies’, an EP influenced by Detroit and minimal techno.
His music has always been an eclectic mixture of different influences, original sound design, and great sound. Piotrâs work has been released on many Polish and international labels, among many dj and live-act club gigs. For gigs, Piotr has performed at many venues such as: Street Art Festival, Ars Cameralis Festival, and Tauron Nowa Muzyka; all of which have led him to be honored to play at the legendary Instytut festival in Warsaw back in 2017. More than just creating his own projects, Piotr also works as a producer â mixing, mastering, engineering, and helping many artists achieve their dream sounds.
As dance music, its festivals, and rave culture grow in popularity, the accurate depiction of âthe sceneâ has become more necessary than ever. There are a plethora of ârave movies,â but the ones that become “mainstream” get it absolutely wrong. They’re completely reductive to dance music culture and its members. This poor depiction of rave culture riddled with drugs and then some brings major problems to those interested in the dance music scene, to those already in it, and to those who can influence how society both culturally and legally approaches the scene.
