Goldenvoice: 1960’s Rock Show, Coachella-Style

Goldenvoice, the mega-brand responsible for, among others, the iconic Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, has just dropped a major announcement. From October 7-9 this year, Goldenvoice will be hosting a three-night concert at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. with an unbelievable lineup: the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, the Who, and Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd fame). This will beĀ the first time that these six artists, all inductees of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, have shared a bill. All of these artists were enormously influentialĀ in the development of pop and rock music through the 60’s and 70’s, and this festival provides a perfect opportunity to acknowledge and honor their contributions to both British, American, and global musical traditions.

Ice Cube Hints at a N.W.A Reunion at Coachella 2016

ā€œIā€™ve got some tricks up my sleeve. Iā€™m going to try and bring the memories of N.W.A together, and give everyone a little history lessonā€¦ā€

These were the words spoken by former N.W.A member, Ice Cube, during his recent interview on The Talk. Ice Cube briefly talks about his plans, and is quick to mention that this particular night will be a great one. The event in question ā€“ wellā€¦according to Ice Cube, itā€™s ā€œthe same night Guns n Roses get back togetherā€

Ice Cube is seen as the next name down on the 2016 Coachella lineup, underneath Guns n Roses, which makes his N.W.A reunion statement seem more than plausible. Coachella also might have a solution to fill the void of the late N.W.A member, Eazy-E. An Eazy-E hologram was seen in 2013 at Rock the Bells in San Bernadino, and given Coachella’s track record with holograms this could be the missing piece for a complete N.W.A reunion.

Grab your credit cards and magnifying glasses, because Coachella just released their 2016 lineup. With a lineup so expansive it’s only natural for there to be polarized emotions, but from a dance music perspective Coachella 2016 hits all the right spots for newcomers and seasoned aficionados alike.

The headlining slots for Coachella this year are dominated by artists such as LCD Soundsystem, Jack Ɯ, Guns N’ Roses, James Bay, Silversun Pickups, Flume, and Calvin Harris (among countless others), but it’s the dance music lineup that will truly dominate Coachella 2016.

Stretched throughout the two weekends in April, Coachella will host a battalion of dance heavy weights such as Marco Carola, Nic Fanciulli, Bob Moses, Nina Kraviz, Matthew Dear, The Black Madonna, Maceo Plex, Cassy, DJ Koze, and many more. Let’s put it this way – you know a festival lineup is serious when you see Dubfire and John Digweed in the fine print of the flyer…
