Forever Making Moves With Nonfiction
Beginning his DJing journey as a young child, Nonfiction has continued his grind to create varied sounds on the dance floor and perform with unique styles that are unparalleled. Hip Hop, Classic Rock, Funk, and Reggaeâall of which have contributed to his own flare of music creativity, have earned his achievement of playing at some of the top-tier festivals and venues such as Coachella, EDC, Beyond Wonderland, Lightning In a Bottle, Ocaso Festival (Costa Rica), Exchange LA, Sound Night Club, as well as holding down an 18-year old residency with the legendary Focus OC. Collaboration-wise, Nonfiction has also worked side-by-side with some of the most unforgettable names in the game including Green Velvet, DJ Sneak, Doc Martin, Honey Dijon, Gene Farris, Cajmere, and Mark Farina.
Now, after charting#21 on Beatport’s Top 100 in the Tech House category with his track, “What You Want“, Nonfiction has been on the move again with his recent track “Hands on His Own” which released on RVDIOVCTIVE ‘s fourth V/A album RVDIOVCTIVE VOL. 4. This fourth compilation series concluded 2022 off to a great end by featuring 14 new and exclusive tracks from label regulars and newcomers alike. As one of the regulars, Nonfiction graces the album with track #6 “Hands on His Own” which incorporates raw house cuts and bouncing groovy bass lines that will take you back to the sounds of classic house and techno from Chicago and Detroit.

From Milwaukee, WI, now living in Oakland, California is JX-216 (formerly known as the alias Milkplant, full name: Justin Pennell) â a techno DJ/Producer with over 30 years of combined DJ/production experience, and 10 years of record label management experience.

This week’s featured Guest Mix artist is Freeman 713 â a DJ/Producer hailing from the hills of Northern California. Real name Trevor Tappe, is based out of Los Angeles and is inspired by the sights and sounds of the early 2000s Hardgroove & Tribal Techno. Freeman 713 pairs Dense Tribal Grooves with High Energy Rave Vibes to create a versatile and potent blend of slamming techno. The sound is heavy and driving while still being groovy, sexy, and endlessly danceable.

Marfulaâs specialty is performing blends of Melodic Techno, House, Afro-house, Indie Dance, and Progressive-house.
New Vinyl Pressing Plant Opening in California
A new vinyl pressing plant is opening in Southern California to keep up with rising demands for vinyl records. The new Fidelity Record Pressing aims to be the country’s “premier vinyl production facility”, Billboard reports.
The Californian reissue label Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MoFi) is behind the new pressing plant, alongside Music Directâs Jim Davis. Both parties have collaborated with vinyl engineers Rick and Edward Hashimoto â a father and son team who have over six decades of vinyl pressing experience.

Lightning in a Bottleâs Compass environments host an array of learning and culture programming that aligns with the core principles of the festival – creating space for connection, expression, and community. Highlighted talks and discussions among this yearâs programming include Regenerating Soil with Microbes, Cryptocurrency: The Ownership Economy, Queering the Liminal, Technology of Prayer, Fire Adapted Communities: Building A Wildfire Resilient Future, Transforming Fulfilling Prophecies into Love, Resilience of Chamorro Food and more.

Compass has once again curated a top-tier selection of thought leaders and experts to lead attendees on a thought-provoking journey during their festival experience. This includes the Tejon Indian Tribe Dance Troupe, 2x best-selling author and founder/CEO of 4BiddenKnowledge Billy Carson, holistic wellness expert Queen Afua of the Sacred Woman Rites of Passage program, and Racing Extinction collaborators and digital artists Louie Psihoyos and Travis Threlkel.
Some of the key innovative workshops will include Art of Benevolent Leadership in Ritual Community, Psychedelic JEDI Training, Hope in the Anthropocene, Ceremonial Chants & Medicine Music, Remote Viewing for Psychic Development, and No Means No – How to (Not) Talk to Cops.
Learning Kitchen returns as LIBâs culinary hub at the festival, empowering through demonstrations and tastings. Lightning in a Bottle has also partnered with organizations that continue to emphasize the idea of worldwide connection and well-being. These partners include Buckminster Fuller Institute, Academy of Oracle Arts, Ecological Renewal Alliance, Fungi Foundation, Ritual Community, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), and Life-Force Academy. Artists announced on the musical lineup for The Compass stage include a DJ set by electronic-crossover favorite SG Lewis, Danish electronic trio and internationally celebrated live act WhoMadeWho, German DJ and producer Parra For Cuva, emotive and melancholic techno producer Christian Löffler, forward-thinking multi-genre producer Full Crate, Andre Power and Sasha Marie of Soulection, ethereal electronic musician Ayla Nereo, 29 Palms from Ooah and Boreta of The Glitch Mob, neo-psychedelic world music band Simrit, multi-instrumentalist and DJ/producer Aabo, Afro-Latina DJ/producers and stylish twins Coco & Breezy, and many more.

Framework Announcing Three Desert Shows During Coachella
Having been integral to Coachellaâs after-hours scene since its inception, Framework has built a second home in the desert, hosting events across the valley from Palm Springs to Thermal.
This Spring, Framework continues pioneering new ground, unveiling a never before used venue at Thermal Airport, and creating an after-hours location to showcase some of dance musicâs most admired talents.

Coming from humbling beginnings, EJ-BEATS began his journey into techno and performing techno from his Californian house parties as an alma mater. He continued captivating audiences with streams such as âChurch of Technoâ garnering a global fandom. As his branding suggests, EJ-BEATS consistently cements himself into the hearts and minds of his audience through his powerful, industrious, yet dynamic and fluid sets.
