State of Flow Atroxx

State of Flow With Atroxx

Flow” is a scientifically recognized state of mind where a person is completely focused and immersed in what they’re doing- All time seems to stop, the whole world seems to disappear, and the person is performing and creating at their peak levels. Top performance athletes, engineers and especially your favorite music artists all try to do whatever they can to achieve the State of Flow. Although everyone has their own method to achieve “flow”, factors such as creative workspaces, learning beyond their craft, physical/mental well being, feedback/self evaluation on work, and resting time- help all artists create their best work.

Canada’s Relentless Techno artist, Atroxx tells 6AM how he achieves key factors to get to a State of Flow for his projects such as his recent collab with Pleasurekraft and his newest “Ranges of Techno” sample pack available right now.

Atroxx on Why Using Musical Aliases Allows for the Ultimate Artistic Expression

Montreal-based artist Atroxx is a musical chameleon. Even though his techno project Atroxx has amassed a significant fan base in recent years, he never wanted to be constrained by just one genre. Within the techno genre, Atroxx created another alias Three Faces of Eve to explore techno without boundaries, creating a more experimental and aggressive sound. From producing techno to synth-wave, Atroxx lives by the motto “put the audience first.” The musical identities around each alias are completely unique and the music he creates with each alias are meant for different settings.  Some of the world’s biggest DJs and producers are well-known for their musical aliases as well. Maceo Plex has Maetrik and Mariel Ito. Eric Prydz has Cirez D and Pryda (and many more). Richie Hawtin has Plastikman, amongst a long list of others. These various sonic identities allow artists to open up worlds of possibilities and explore creatively.

Atroxx recently sat down with 6AM to give guidance on personal sonic exploration, finding success over time, and what the future in store holds for him. Creating music so many different aliases certainly takes dedication.

Premiere: New Collaborative EP from Atroxx and Mike Laz Receives Industrialyzer Remixes

Canada’s Atroxx is set to release a massive forthcoming collaboration with fellow Montreal based producer Mike Laz on his own label Starskream on August 23rd.

The collaboration between Atroxx and the up-and-coming techno producer will be the seventh stellar release on Starskream. Named after Slipknot’s DJ Starscream, the label has a similar ethos to the heavy metal juggernauts with a focus on menacing, bass-driven, unapologetic techno.

The new title-track “Between Realms” is yet another slamming track bearing testament to Starskream’s reputation as a platform for world-class techno. The EP opens with the “Relentless Mix”, a brooding, atmospheric techno odyssey. Twitchy, foreboding synths drive through the thunderous bass until a monumental midpoint drop which carries the track to its colossal conclusion.
