Holding the honor of being on the best electronic events in Southern California, CRSSD Festival made its triumphant return since early 2020. Attendees of the spring 2020 edition of CRSSD may not have realized at the time that they would be attending one of the last major events to occur before the pandemic shut the live event industry down. Safe to say, the fan-favorite electronic music festival came roaring back for its fall edition this year.
Chicago has proven time and time again that nothing compares to the community the city has to offer. Looking at dance music, house music remains a high staple in the Windy City. Some would say it was an overdue house and techno festival, and ARC Music Festival gave the city just what it needed. ARC Music Festival featured various leading house and techno artists in their line-up in Chicago’s Union Park.
Even though electronic dance music was born from BIPOC and LGBTQI+ communities, the current incarnation of dance music in North America is overwhelmingly white and male. This lack of diversity in dance music is no more present than on festival lineups across the United States. With the pandemic shutting down the live music industry, some members of the dance music community wondered if promoters would take this time to discover new artists and emerge from the ashes with diverse, innovative lineup offerings.
