The Beonix music festival is coming back to the island! Based on the scraps of earlier published information and some insights, one of its major surprises, besides a long line of prominent music selectors, is its new location. Last year’s event took place in Larnaca Beach. This season it will finally have a cozy and marvelous home. According to the Beonix makers, its new and hopefully permanent residence is now on the territory of the oldest Limassol winery. If you have been to the city and missed the place, it was because the building and the area around it were abandoned and closed to the public. Soon it is going to change.
ETKO was once a cradle of wine-making on the island. For many years starting from 1844, the company grew vineyards and produced one of the island’s finest drinks. Today the winery is still in business. However, it has moved to another location leaving behind its historic building in Limassol.
That is where festival makers come into play with an idea to revive the place. After the first international Beonix event in Larnaca, their plans and concepts took a clearer shape, and the ETKO is the place that will help them realize their aims.
The winery building will be renovated and transformed into a new art space where people can hang out. But do not worry; the creators plan only to restore the building’s initial looks and add a pinch of freshness to it. The main point here is to leave the rich history of the place untouched. After that, however, it will gently blend with the improved contemporary surrounding.
Beonix festival is one of many events that is going to happen here. The newly presented venue will welcome people all year round to socialize and spend time meeting their friends, listening to music, and having a great time.
