If you are into a different type of music festival, this particular festival may be of your liking.
Uva is a one of a kind music festival dedicated to contemporary culture through the interaction of music, visual arts and architecture. Unlike majority of the music festivals being held elsewhere in the world, Uva stands in stark contradiction as it chooses to focus instead on the elaborate presentation in an intimate environment and a unique atmosphere, where people can appreciate the music better.

This unique setup extends even in the choice of venue. The venue, Descalzos Viejos, is actually a monastery built in the 15th century, which has since been converted into a vineyard facing Ronda’s iconic cliffs. Sunken into the flourishing greenery, this plot of land is a labyrinth of ancient walls and secret hideaways – the perfect environment to get lost in. Uva is located just 800m from Ronda town centre, which is itself a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This year’s Uva is taking place from June 8-10, and it boasts a lineup which includes Call Super, Orpheu the Wizard, Reginald Omas Mamode IV (live), DJ Central, DJ Sports, Debora Ipekel, Donna Leake, Habibi Funk, Zenker Brothers and more.

With regards to music, Uva is a variety of artists: committed veterans, cutting edge acts, unsung heroes and favourite family members. There’s also an expansion of stages by the addition of the third stage which is home to ambient, experimental jazz and everything in between.
Committed to developing a sustainable and environmentally friendly festival, this year Uva has partnered with respected design and architecture outfit Zuloark who will lead a design workshop in which students from different schools of design, architecture and arts school get a rare opportunity to participate to construct, design and commission various elements of the production.
