Deep and melodic, Tim Hanmann‘s latest EP, entitled 25 Hours, is undoubtedly fitting of KDB Records‘ catalogue. The five-track package includes four distinct remixes by standalone artists of their own, and can be purchased on Beatport.
Hanmann’s original is pulsating and drips with entrancing rhythm ear-catching melodies. The Russian producer delivers a dance floor-ready track that follows perfectly on past release success that has seen him receive support from industry favorites such as Claude vonStroke and Sander Kleinenberg.
The first remix comes courtesy of well-known Brooklyn artist Pattern Drama. His version is lighter than the original, yet still captivates the listener thanks to a series of percussion repetitions, invigorating melodies and synthesized layers.
“25 Hours” receives its second remix by Texas producer Hands Free. The result is a a spacey journey that leaves listeners’ mind to wonder and forget the world around them for a few minutes. Atmospheric and melodic, Hands Free’s remix makes for perfect KDB Records material.
Next up is the turn of Desert Hearts’ veteran Tara Brooks, whose soundscapes have become part and parcel of Burning Man’s far-reaching allure. Her take on “25 Hours” is signature playa tech, peppered with infectious melody and a seemingly never-ending pulsation that will surely have any listener dancing.
Los Angeles-based producer and DJ Jamie Charles takes charge of the last remix on the package, giving it a heavier signature than any of the other version in the EP. Heavy percussions are the name of the game here in this enthralling version of the original, with sparse dark vocals and enthralling hooks left to do the rest of the work to round off this remix as the darkest available in the entire release.
