La Pera Records Boss Guille Placencia Scheduled for LA Debut on May 11th

The collaboration between WORK by 6AM and Madhouse DJs continues on May 11th as the two Los Angeles-based promoters invite La Pera Records label boss Guille Placencia to grace the decks for his LA debut.

His hardworking ability and exceptional understanding of dance music has allowed him to reach #1 on Beatport’s Top for many weeks in a row with his track “What a Bam.” Hailing from Barcelona Guille Placencia has caught the ears of some of the leading tech house labels and their founders. It is for this reason that he boasts releases on Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records and UMEK‘s 1605 Music Therapy, but also the esteemed elrow Records, Resonance Records, Superfett Records, Deeperfect and of course, his very own La Pera records.

Global Vibe Radio 154 Feat. JGarrett (Live at WORK by 6AM and Synthetik Minds)

For this week’s Global Vibe Radio episode we look no further than one of our own nights here in LA dated January 5th, 2019, when we hosted I Hate Models, JGarrett and Tap Newo.

JGarrett is the primary music project from Vancouver-based musician and producer Josh Garrett. A native of Ann Arbor, MI, Josh came to Techno and House within the shadow of Detroit and with direct involvement in the Detroit Techno and rave communities of the ‘90s. In 2000, Josh relocated to Vancouver and over the years has become an integral member of the Vancouver Techno scene, from running the well-respected label Subspec Music as well as a key member of the Proper Event Productions crew.

El Row’s De La Swing and NYC’s Pinto To Play Los Angeles on March 8th

In August of last year, 6AM’s WORK event brand teamed up with Los Angeles-based collective Madhouse DJs to bring the warehouse debut of one of tech house’s most exciting names, Rafa Barrios.

The event was a resounding success and a testament that the WORK and Madhouse collaboration for events of this sound was worth exploring further. It may have taken longer than either WORK or Madhouse wanted, but the second edition of this collaboration series is now scheduled for next week.

It’s not hard to notice that Rafa Barrios has had his tracks played by industry heavyweights alike, with artists such as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Reboot, Chus + Ceballos, Christian Smith and Danny Tenaglia just a few of the peers that have supported and shown appreciation for the Spaniard’s productions.

Looking at his catalogue of releases we find labels such as Tronic, Suara, Toolroom, Stereo, Intec Digital, Knee Deep in Sound and many more, a testament to his quality considering the fact that not only are some of the aforementioned acts playing Rafa’s tracks out, but they are signing them to their label.
