In a major easing of pandemic travel restrictions, the U.S. said Monday it will allow foreigners to [travel] into the country this fall if they have vaccination proof and a negative COVID-19 test â changes replacing a hodgepodge of rules that had kept out many non-citizens and irritated allies in Europe and beyond where virus cases are lower.
Let me preface this article by saying that any artist that is able to tour heavily, playing two to three gigs a weekend, should recognize they have a lot to be grateful. Yet, it’s also true that a scheduled filled with heavy touring often has a negative correlation with music production and releases.
This article isn’t meant to portray such as a scenario as unfavorable or as a burden, but the opposite. Further, while I am not discounting the fact that these artists had to work hard to get to that level of touring, it must be recognized being able to play 2-3 traveling gigs every week is certainly a sign that your career is on a great trajectory, and it certainly puts you levels ahead of most electronic music producers and DJs.
Following a 10 hour set at Berghain, London-based Paul Rose aka Scuba announced he plans to go on an “extended break from touring” after next month.
His indefinite hiatus will come after a Hotflush showcase at isnide Berghain’s SĂ€ule room, alongside label-mates Or:la and Saoirse. According to his post his performance for the occasion will be different than usual, and “some proper bassbin action,” as he himself labeled it.
