This past weekend one of the world’s biggest electronic music brands, Germany’s Time Warp, returned to the United States after a four-year hiatus.

The anticipation was worth the wait for the several thousand North American electronic music fans who poured into The Bronx in New York City for the two-night festivities organized in liaison with local promoter Teksupport. In the 25 years since Time Warp was founded in Mannheim, Germany—where it celebrated its quarter-century birthday earlier in the year—the festival has consistently set a golden standard for immersive stage production and an equally mind-blowing lineup. Throughout the years the festival has hosted the who’s who of techno, house, tech house and minimal, from heavyweight names that have shaped the history of underground electronic music across several decades, to up-and-comers and future leaders of their respective sounds.

In Interview with Reinier Zonneveld

Reinier Zonneveld’s international career is only just beginning to blossom, but the strong foundation he’s built it upon signals an artist who’s in it for the long haul. For years, the Dutch talent honed his craft not just in the studio, but also as a fixture of his country’s turbulent underbelly. “What I mainly did for many years was play illegal raves, playing live and basically bringing a whole studio to a gig with 60, 70 people in the crowd,” the artist described. It took him nearly a decade to begin netting official gigs and signing records.

Time Warp USA Releases Ricardo Villalobos Live Set Recording

Time Warp US did every techno and house music fan a favor this past November by finally bringing Ricardo Villalobos back to this side of the pond for a three-hour set in Brooklyn that was the talk of many for weeks after.

Then, the German festival teased fans when it hinted on social media that a recording of the set would follow. Now it’s finally here, originally released exclusively on RecMix.
