The french producer, label head and DJ is coming back to Los Angeles this Friday for one of the most anticipated Outspoken nights of the year. We recently had the chance to sit down with him to discuss his 20 year long residency at Rex Club in Paris called Bass Culture, again highlighting just how respected his work as a producer and DJ is in today’s electronic music scene. As part of his 20 year celebration of Bass Culture, D’Julz is touring the most respected venues in the world and bringing some class acts with him. This coming Friday Chuck Daniels of Sampled Detroit will be on direct support, with G-Dubbs and Jonny Maven also scheduled to play

We have partnered up with LA underground techno and house promoter Incognito to give a lucky reader 2 free tickets to Incognito’s 9 Year Anniversary celebration party featuring Xhin.

This upcoming Saturday, 10th of September, Incognito will host the Stroboscopic Artefacts recording artist for his second time ever playing in Los Angeles, first and last appearing at Incognito’s 4 Year Anniversary party in 2011. The techno event will featuring local support by Gerald Not Gerald of Incognito, Jia of 6AM and Rosie Love of Teknologik.

OFF Week Giveaway: Win Tickets to a Pool Party of Your Choice

FACTAs the officially “unofficial” byproduct of Sonar in Barcelona, OFF Week always boasts immense lineups across the board. There are many options for people throughout the week, but year after year the dedicated team at FACT look to raise the bar higher when it comes to their annual pool parties. OFF Week 2016 is no exception.

Starting Wednesday June 15th and running until Sunday the 19th, the lush poolside venue in Hospitalet de Llobregat will host several showcases with the best of the best in dance music. Powerhouse labels such as Cocoon and Mobilee will be in the rotation, along with groove setting rosters from the likes of Half Baked, Watergate, and several others.

About Avatism:
Thomas did not buy his first vinyl record when he was 10 years old, nor was he born out of the love of two underground jazz musicians. Despite an extremely dull and standard childhood during which he barely learned to play drums, his moody productions have been released on labels such as Vakant, Infiné and Haunt.

Much to everyone’s surprise, his recently-released debut album “Adamant”, doom-laced live sets and collaborations have lead him to rise to similar popularity as other artists with more interesting biographies.

“There’s always been a neat unpredictability about Avatism. From the muffled jazz shuffles of “The Slug” to the stark, synth-hammered “Farewell Portrait” to the darker, more mischievous “Constants”. While he clearly resides in the techno district, no one’s ever been able to pinpoint his exact address. But you get the impression that’s how he likes it.” (Dave Jenkins, 2013)
