Techno Therapy: Trus’me – I Want You (Alan Fitzpatrick Remix)

Alan Fitzpatrick

Alan Fitzpatrick is a household name amongst the techno community. With high energy marathon sets, world tours, and a vast production catalog he has risen to the top of the underground scene. Today’s dose of Techno Therapy is his floor-filling remix of Trus’me – I Want You.

This is one of those tracks that is getting heavy play from a wide variety of DJ’s. From Noir playing it at Loveland during ADE to Fitpatrick hammering it out in his own sets, the track has already gained traction in the playlists and dance floors worldwide.

The remix has everything you would hope for with Alan Fitzpatrick on remix duty. For starters, the low end and kick are enough to shift the party into another gear. Add in some tight closed hats with a vocal that literally hits “deep inside of you”, and you have the recipe for a heavy dance floor track. The track takes on serious club room vibes when the synth line comes splashing in and continues to push the limits of the dance floor. Needless to say, this is another bomb from Fitzpatrick, and is just what the doctor ordered for this week’s Techno Therapy.

Throwback Thursday: Radio Slave – Grindhouse (Dubfire Remix)

Dubfire

There are some artists who have gone the extra mile to give us the music landscape that we enjoy today. Dubfire is one of those legendary individuals that helped pioneer the minimal techno movement, and continues to push the boundaries of technology and creative vision.

In preparation for his return to Exchange LA, this week’s Techno Therapy features his remix of Radio Slave’s Grindhouse. A minimal masterpiece, Grindhouse is carefully crafted to absolutely decimate dancefloors. It did then, and it continues to do so today. Starting with heavy kicks and a sub layer that will pierce your soul, the track reaches an eerie peak as the droning synth rises from the dark layer where minimal was born. The iconic “Do I wanna know?” vocal sample then kick starts a monster of a track followed by inaudible vocal bits and minimal percussions all over the spectrum. A true piece of heady minimal aimed at satisfying the mind and body.

Since this track was released, Dubfire has continued to run an incredibly successful label with Sci+Tec curating talent such as Carlo Lio, The Junkies, and SHADED. Add that to his impressive touring resume over the past few years, and you have yourself one of the busiest artists in the game. This Saturday he’ll be gracing the decks at Exchange LA, and you can be sure that he will deliver techno and minimal slices that we have come to know and love.

Umberto Pagliaroli – Parallel EP

umberto yep

For almost 15 years, Italian native Umberto Pagliaroli has been smashing it up, making his mark on dance floors all over the world.  Equally impressive (if not more) is his studio output, with over 15 releases on Beatport releases in the past couple years. Pagliaroli has established a unique sound that has stood the test of time, solidified and reinforced by his Parallel EP.  He is finally starting to get the credit he deserves, as the parallel has been on Beatport’s top 100 releases chart, slowly rising since its release in early october. Parallel EP starts with the title track, featuring dark chord stabs and a rolling with some dope hats and shakers. Next up is Beat Me, a slightly more uptempo track with a tenaciously driving rhythm, psychedelic renegade snares and the occasional splash of noise. The record ends with Act, a dubby techno track with a groovy rolling bassline and some synth plucks. Preview the EP below, and if you like it, then click here to buy on Beatport.

Techno Therapy: Mr. G – It Dub

MrG-Live

In this day and age there seems to be an endless amount of options for software or various music making plug-ins. There’s no doubt that these can assist the creative process or add some character to a track, but at the same time there’s something nice about a good old fashion jam on a drum machine, and no one does it better than Mr. G himself.

For the debut of Techno Therapy, we bring you a classic drum machine jam with Mr. G. The texture that he creates with the drums will take any techno fan right into the heart of the party when things really start to heat up. Enjoy!
