Premiere: Andres Campo Debuts on Intec Digital with “Cyclone” EP

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead who’s legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell, and the new release is from Andres Campo.

Spanish artist Andres Campo makes his Intec debut following previous releases on Second State, MOOD, RUKUS and Odd Recordings

Already championed by some of the biggest names in techno, Andres has risen to fame as a solo artist, but also boasts collaborations with people like Ramiro Lopez and Alberto Ruiz.

Carl Cox is one of the people who regularly supports his tracks and adding Intec to an already impressive back catalogue of labels, this three track EP showcases Andres Campo at his very best.

Hard hitting with hypnotic grooves and captivating atmospherics, this release also has powerful synths making it the perfect peak time EP.

The opening track “Cyclone” is all about the exhilaration of lead synth and its stabbing rhythms layered with a heavy kick drum and fast flowing clap rhythms.

“Ancient Gods” ripples with tension as the pulsating percussion rhythms beat like a heart with a heightened pulse rate that’s been raised by excitement. With a captivating sense of urgency, this cut will whip the dance floor into a frenzy with the way it teases each and every drop along the ride.

Finishing things is the understated “Glaciar” which builds steadily towards a twisted crescendo of sinister FX and growls, before its explosive percussion kicks back in. Keeping you on the edge of your seat, its ominous atmosphere is beyond intense.

Track List:

01. Cyclone
02. Ancient Gods
03. Glaciar

Andres Campo’s Cyclone EP, released on Intec Digital, is available on Beatport

Interview: A Peek Inside Rebekah’s World

Celebrating 20 plus years since she first stood behind the turntables, Rebekah has established herself as one of the leading exponents of techno currently operating on the global circuit. Her love affair with the harder sounds stretches back to the legendary Que Club in her hometown of Birmingham where she drew influence from the likes of Dave Clarke, Derrick Carter, Richie Hawtin and Billy Nasty.

Every artist, regardless of their discipline, needs to evolve. In fact, it is something inherent within creatives. The need to push the envelope, have new experiences, and share new impulses is deep-rooted, and yearns to be nurtured. That is the position Rebekah found herself in during the early stages of 2016, fast forward to the end of 2018 and we see her busier than after having launched her label/event brand called Elements, debuted her Live show at ADE and continued to tour relentlessly playing both solo and on carefully selected back-to-back performances with Paula Temple.

This weekend Rebekah returns to the United States for three back-to-back dates that will see her perform in Minneapolis on Thursday, November 29th, followed by San Francisco for Robot Ears on Friday, November 30th and finally with WORK by 6AM and Synthetik Minds in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 1st

To believe in Rebekah’s music is to believe in the harder, raw side of techno, and that is sound very dear to our heart. It is with this in mind that we took the opportunity to not only bring her back to Los Angeles but also to have a chat ahead of her upcoming U.S. gigs.

Premiere: Jamaica Suk’s “Whispers” EP On Gradient Delivers Four Dance Floor-Ready Techno Punches

With recent appearances on Boiler Room and the Groove Magazine Podcast plus sets across Asia and Europe, Jamaica Suk’s fearsome techno sounds are winning fans far and wide. A year on from her debut release on her own Gradient label comes this stunning second volume.

Jamaica’s Whispers, released on the vinyl imprint she launched last year, is a three-track digital release with a fourth vinyl-only track.

“Fallen,” our premiered track today, sets it out of the stall immediately, with filtered down acidic bass playing out a jagged groove. A manic counterpart mimics its rhythm but dizzily delays off the beat to create a rugged, funk-fuelled feel. Cymbal rides pitch up and down; unidentified snarls of FX mutate around the edges; all the while the sharp hi-hats keep the metronomic heartbeat going.

Tracklisting:

A1 Jamaica Suk – “Stinger Ray”
A2 Jamaica Suk – “Fallen”
B1 Jamaica Suk – “Whispers”
B2 Jamaica Suk – “Twilight Rain”
