Techno Therapy: Trus’me – I Want You (Alan Fitzpatrick Remix)

Alan Fitzpatrick

Alan Fitzpatrick is a household name amongst the techno community. With high energy marathon sets, world tours, and a vast production catalog he has risen to the top of the underground scene. Today’s dose of Techno Therapy is his floor-filling remix of Trus’me – I Want You.

This is one of those tracks that is getting heavy play from a wide variety of DJ’s. From Noir playing it at Loveland during ADE to Fitpatrick hammering it out in his own sets, the track has already gained traction in the playlists and dance floors worldwide.

The remix has everything you would hope for with Alan Fitzpatrick on remix duty. For starters, the low end and kick are enough to shift the party into another gear. Add in some tight closed hats with a vocal that literally hits “deep inside of you”, and you have the recipe for a heavy dance floor track. The track takes on serious club room vibes when the synth line comes splashing in and continues to push the limits of the dance floor. Needless to say, this is another bomb from Fitzpatrick, and is just what the doctor ordered for this week’s Techno Therapy.

Techno Therapy: Shaded – Gender Bender

Shaded Gender Bender

After a memorable performance by SHADED last night at Sound Nightclub for Monday Night Social, it was only appropriate to have this weeks Techno Therapy come straight from his new Gender Bender EP for Sci+Tec.

Gender Bender is a fine piece of minimal techno that finds a perfect home with the Sci+Tec sound. Rubbery basslines bounce along with a trippy vocal hook, and then in Sci+Tec fashion the random weirdness comes from percs and other various elements that SHADED includes at his discretion. Quick escalations in the bassline scale give the original mix solid flare and the overall quality of the track is sure to decimate dance floors worldwide. We know it did last night for sure!

In addition to the original mix, Gender Bender received remix treatment from Carlo Lio and Matador, both Sci+Tec staples. You can listen/preview the entire Gender Bender EP here on the Sci+Tec Soundcloud.

Carlo Lio decides to take the track in a much harder direction choosing to not utilize as many of the original elements. That being said, his use of the vocal in conjunction with his sound design makes it one bomb of a remix, and my personal favorite off the EP. Matador chooses to stick with a more linear path on his take of Gender Bender, but still leaves his recognizable mark on the track. A nice well-rounded bass sits underneath the minimalistic elements quite nicely, and once he throws in a groovy shaker pattern the track feels complete.

To wrap it all up, this is a strong release from the LA native with two great artists on remix duty. Gender Bender couldn’t have found a better home than on Sci+Tec, and we’re sure that 2015 will be another strong year for SHADED. That’s this weeks dose of Techno Therapy, keep grooving everyone.

Techno Therapy: AndrĂ© Galluzzi & Dana Ruh – Wu Wang

andre-galluzzi

For Techno Therapy today we present a fine cut from AndrĂ© Galluzzi and Dana Ruh. This track could bring back many great memories for people. From Tini dropping it on an open air after-party in Ibiza to Galluzzi hammering it out in Germany this track did damage on dancefloors everywhere. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to hear it tomorrow night at Clinic Wednesdays with AndrĂ© Galluzzi.

Wu Wang is a tom driven monster with a glitchy and effects loaded vocal to complete the weirdness. With those two elements alone, the track is easy to recognize and made this one an anthem over summer. As Tini demonstrated this summer, it’s the perfect track to keep the party moving.

This is just one of many gems from Galluzzi and Ruh. Both artists are more than acquainted with music that specializes in body and dance floor moving. Tomorrow night at Clinic, the Berghain/Panorama Bar artist AndrĂ© Galluzzi will grace the decks along with LA’s own Modus and Cameron St. Denis. Some grooves to help get us closer to the weekend.

Techno Therapy: Tin Man – Falling Acid

When it comes to the 303 and the iconic “acid” sound, no one knows their way around better than Tin Man. Utilizing the famous synth to it’s full potential, Tin Man creates sequences and textures that radiate in such a way that give all of his music a recognizable definition. For Techno Therapy today, we bring you Falling Acid by Tin Man.

Falling Acid is a track from his Love Sex Acid release on Keys of Life, and as the track states it feels as if the 303 is raining on you in the most perfect storm. Tin Man appears to layer many different tracks and sequences of the 303 to complete another acid masterpiece. Synthetic zaps swirl in the back as a more rounded and deep sub layer plays off of the higher octave lead. A true master at his craft, Tin Man doesn’t fail to deliver another 303 masterpiece.

Techno Therapy: Margot – Liuff Settanta

There are certain tracks that remind us why we love this music and community. I have fond memories of hearing Matthew Dear’s Fighting is Futile walking into a European club for the first time, and it sparked an uncontrollable feeling for the energy that is shared amongst the global scene. These moments are special, and for Techno Therapy this week we present Luiff Settanta by Margot released on Italian record label Hell Ya Recordings.

Within seconds of the track starting the synth lead starts to cut through the mix, and it evolves into a progressive techno monster that engulfs the listener with raw emotion. Sharp high hats sit very low in the mix giving just enough groove, but the track is propelled by various synthetic elements and leads that continually build this into a track that could be dropped at any moment
at any party.

Enjoy the track, and pick it up at Juno Download if you like it.

Techno Therapy: Mr. G – It Dub

MrG-Live

In this day and age there seems to be an endless amount of options for software or various music making plug-ins. There’s no doubt that these can assist the creative process or add some character to a track, but at the same time there’s something nice about a good old fashion jam on a drum machine, and no one does it better than Mr. G himself.

For the debut of Techno Therapy, we bring you a classic drum machine jam with Mr. G. The texture that he creates with the drums will take any techno fan right into the heart of the party when things really start to heat up. Enjoy!
