A new record store is opening in Bristol. Run by local DJs Kane Orchard (AKA Kayne the Hermit) and Corey Miller (AKA Morey Cillar), Disk Frisk will open its doors in late April or early May and sell mostly second-hand records from the ’70s to the early ’00s. .

Landlord Evicts Russian owner of LA Record Store Stellar Remnant

Ed Vertov, the Russian owner of the Los Angeles record shop Stellar Remnant has been served with a 30-day eviction notice by their landlord.

The store, which specializes in electronic music, shared the news via social media last Friday, March 11th, alongside a photo of the notice, which is dated March 2nd. The posts were likely written by Ed Vertov. More will be reported as more of this story unfolds.

A Tour of London’s Little Synth Haven Where Thom Yorke and Aphex Twin Shop

Right in the post-industrial surrounds of London’s Hackney Wick, a little store there has become a haven for many musicians.

Known as the London Modular, this particular store is one of the world’s smallest, yet well-renowned synth stores out there. Since Simon Lynch and Phil Ventre opened the store in 2013, it has become the go-to synth store for musicians in London and beyond. It is patronized by amateur hobbyists and professional artists alike, with names such as of Mumdance, Russell Haswell, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, and, reportedly, Aphex Twin as its loyal customers.
