This has been a monster year for former Tresor Berlin resident, Vince Watson, and it is now complete with a selection of remixes of his DnA album, including one by friend Steve Rachmad. The artist released new tracks on Get Physical, Tronic, SushiTech, All Day I Dream, his own Everysoul Audio alongside a slew of remixes. Watson has now rounded out the year by kicking things up a notch with his labelâs biggest and most adventurous release to date: DnA [re]Sequenced.
When one looks at Steve Rachmad‘s biography, it becomes extremely difficult to know where to begin in describing his dedication and work in the world of electronic music.
Both the list of clubs and festivals he has left an indelible mark on and his seemingly never-ending discography offer but a glimpse of his artistry. As a producer, he has been churning out timeless classics and dance floor gems under several monikers, including his own name, STERAC, Sterac Electronics, Parallel 9 and Ignacio, while as a DJ he has been constantly reinventing himself through his own signature interpretation of house and techno.

Dutch DJ Steve Rachmad is one of Holland’s original techno producers. He’s also one of the truest in term of his undiluted commitment to the music in its original Detroit-manufactured form. No wonder he carries with him a “Detroit pass” like fellow European greats Laurent Garnier, Maurizio and Luke Slater.
Whether making and playing music as Sterac (his harder techno alias), Tons of Tones (his most Detroit-sounding records) or as his own groovy self, the Amsterdam fixture continues to move crowds after more than 25 behind the decks.
He talks about his early discovery of pre-techno electronic music, his close call with Dutch hardcore and his ambition to play live…someday, all on this episode of Rave Curious.

Last week we covered how the return of techno to the Underground Stage at Movement Electronic Music Festival was a positive move that, in our eyes, elevated the festival experience to what we would expect out of the Movement brand.
The stage, which this year was hosted by Resident Advisor for the first time ever, was the home of artists the likes of drumcell, Rrose, Headless Horseman, Adam X and Perc, Ben Sims, DVS1 and many more.
