Brian Cid’s Endangered Records reveals its first release of 2019, and continues its mission of championing fresh new talent from around the world.
Hailing from Zurich, Soma Soul combines cinematic sounds with techno and electronica production, and is musically inspired by the kind of nature found in cold, rural areas. His first release was at the end of last year on Jonas Rathsman’s Elements label, and was supported by the likes of &ME and BOg.
The EP begins with the title track ‘Beyond The Lights’. Arpeggiated synths appear throughout, and are weaved in and out to create a suspense-filled starting track. ‘Borderlands’ continues the melodic vibes with big driving drums and synths. It’s a massive sounding track, and one that can fill a big room with an equal amount of emotions.
‘Resolut’ follows, and has an extended breakdown that lures the listener into a state of hypnosis. The nature inspiration really shines through with the mystic vibes created here. The finale of the EP shows Soma Soul’s passion for cinematic sounds with ‘Waiting For Salvation’. Layered synths create the feeling of a full orchestra, and it’s easy to imagine this track being played during the plot climax of a movie.
