Premiere: Listen to Rhythm Cult’s Brilliant “Brutal” Forthcoming on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth

Label owners and experienced dance floor smashers, Rhythm Cult‘s Paul Loraine and Richard Seeley have always dedicated their studio uncountable hours to produce the finest and cutting-edge electronic music. But authentic artists, who have another thing in common: they are never satisfied, as if another level was always above them, awaiting to be conquered. Their latest outing, the brilliant Brutal EP on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth is a testament to their studio prowess.

Rhythm Cult is the name where you’ll find Loraine and Seeley’s way to get into this next level, a most clubbing and engaging electronic music is what they’ve been into, a path they’ve taken together for a simple reason: if you want people to really enjoy clubbing, be serious on having fun while producing the tracks they’ll dance to.

We are happy to be hosting the premiere of the title track from the forthcoming EP, which is out on October 6th and available for pre-order on Beatport.

Brutal (is Spanish for excellent or it’s cool) named after Paul’s favorite Italian tapas restaurant in Barcelona called Can Cisa – Bar Brutal) The track was a delve into experimental, leftfield type of house music. After an initial draft it was sent to Richard in the U.K. We generally work remotely in our own studios located in Barcelona ES and London UK. The Brutal (original) track has a dense bed of drums which Paul laid down along with some synth stabs and the grubby acid bass line, live percussion is what Richard recorded and arranged. With some back and forth between LDN and BCN it evolved into the completed EP with the added Dub mix and the excellent Peter Dundov remix. – Rhythm Cult

Premiere: Listen to Audiojack’s “Spirit” Off Forthcoming EP on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth

Audiojack are the Leeds grown, Ibiza based duo who have built a solid reputation over the last decade as DJs, producers, remixers and label curators. Their original releases can be found on leading house and techno labels like Crosstown Rebels, 2020Vision and Hot Creations, as well as Tsuba, Leftroom and Culprit. They have remixed for labels such as Moon Harbour, B-Pitch Control and Diynamic, whilst Underworld, Groove Armada and Hot Since 82 are amongst the artists to have enlisted Audiojack for remixes.

Running their own dancefloor focused label Gruuv for over five years has provided an alternative home for their original music. It was Audiojack’s passion for DJing though which drove their desire to produce music and curate a label in the first place, adding “promoter” to their repertoire in 2015 with the launch of their Sunday Social free party in Ibiza. Held at the intimate Veto club the ethos is aligned with the true spirit of Ibiza. A small place with good music, unannounced guest DJs, no door charge and affordable drinks.

Sasha Set To Perform His Back Catalogue Live For The First Time Ever in 2017

Sasha Dj profile

Sasha has had an impressive 2016 so far. An all-around-the-world touring schedule coupled with the return behind the decks alongside John Digweed has kept him as relevant as ever at the forefront of the ever-changing landscape of dance music.

2017 will see the British-born producer perform live at the Barbican. The 20th of May re-Fracted (live) show is set to feature a specially-curated performance that will marry this year’s Scene Delete album, which came out on Late Night Tales, together with material from his back catalogue, synths, drum machines, live instruments and vocalists.

Like the best of his DJ sets, Scene Delete is a journey. With Sasha joined on stage by a small chamber ensemble, the album unfolds as one brooding, undulating piece that flows from start to finish, sounding somewhere between the dark, weightless soundscapes of Burial and the music modern composers like Nils Frahm, akin to fellow Late Night Tales artists Jon Hopkins and Bonobo.

“I spent quite a long time considering what exactly I could do as a ‘live’ performance as it’s something I have never done before. Luckily there has been a new wave of electronic musicians and composers pushing the boundaries with what can be done in this environment.

“I have DJ’ed to all kinds of crowds before from intimate 150 people after hours clubs to 200K people at a rave in a field. This is something totally alien and new to me, though.”

Unsurprisingly, the event sold out a full seven months in advance in under 45 minutes.

Watch 1 Hour of Sasha and John Digweed Going Back-To-Back at The Social Last Night

Last night marked the highly-anticipated reunion of Sasha and John Digweed behind the decks together.

The two legendary producers and DJs have remained at the forefront of the ever-changing spectrum of electronic music for the last three decades, all thanks to strong personal integrity, unwavering focus on music quality and undying passion for dance music. For one reason or another however, over the years they decided to move on from the iconic back-to-back sets that characterized their careers in the 90s and early 2000s, deciding instead to concentrate on their solo work when DJing live.
