Kleiman Returns With His Psytech Sound on His “Seeding EP” – Shadow Wulf Records

Psytech producer Kleiman presents “Seeding”, his second release with Shadow Wulf Records, featuring one original track and remixes from varying sides of the techno scope thanks to Le Son Du Placard, David Phoenix, and Myad. Gabriel Kleiman (Mexico City) has been involved in the Mexican electronic scene for more than 18 years. His first approach was as a psytrance DJ experimenting later with several more genres from progressive trance to deep house, and including tech-house and techno. As a producer, he is constant in his hypnotic style that maintains a psychedelic tendency always faithful to his roots. His talent in the art of merging all this heritage of influences in impeccable productions led him to join the Undergroove Music Family in 2015 when he released his first EP Muddy Feet. This EP had an excellent response in places like Australia, UK, and USA, finally placing him in the international spotlight. Kleiman has been playing his versatile DJ sets and live acts in all the major clubs and festivals around Mexico and worldwide during his long career, releasing on labels in Australia (Electric Power Pole), UK (Furthur Progressions), Netherlands (Anarkick Records) and Mexico (Undergroove Records). Currently Kleiman is working on his next release for Iboga Tech compilation and preparing an album for Undergroove Music.

Roland Leesker: Top 5 Favourite Remixes Of All Time

Get Physical’s creative director Roland Leesker makes a welcome artistic return to the label with a fantastic new release featuring tracks from the ACID LOVE Vol. 2 album, including a DJ Pierre remix.

Leesker has only put out a few releases over the last 15 years—both solo and as DJ Carrera and R&R with none other than Ricardo Villalobos—but has a fully-formed sound. His last most recent singles ‘Bones’ and ‘Believe’ received broad critical acclaim and DJ support and that is sure to continue with this superb new track.

‘Music Is Here’, is a vibrant and busy acid house cut with warped bass, prickly percussion and teased out 303 lines that cut up the refracted vocal. It’s pure energy for the dance floor and after an instrumental version that is even more direct, acid legend DJ Pierre remixes.

In honor of the release and DJ Pierre’s remix, which you can find HERE, we asked Roland to share 5 of his favorite remixes of all time.

Shlømo’s Critically Acclaimed Debut LP “Mercurial Skin” Set To Remixed by I Hate Models, Anetha, Ellen Allien, Kas:st, Regis as CUB and More

Taapion co-founder Shlømo revisits his acclaimed debut LP Mercurial Skin this September with remixes from Ellen Allien, Regis, I Hate Models & Anetha, Benjamin Damage, DJ Sodeyama, Antigone & AWB and more.

2018 was a year in which Shaun Baron-Carvais, aka Shlømo, fully arrived as one of techno’s most exciting talents.Shlømo marking a significant chapter in the Shlømo journey and a first for the imprint, with DJ Mag naming the LP #6 in their Best Albums of 2018, whilst featuring in Tsugi’s top three albums of the year, with praise extending throughout the dance music world and beyond from the likes of Groove Magazin, TRAX and Mixmag, through to publications such as Libération, Le Bonbon and more. The project signaled both the arrival of a highly anticipated album, but also a complete presentation of Shaun’s universe as an artist, with Tsugi noting the release as a ‘first step towards the total blossoming of a big name in electronic music’ as they welcomed him to curate their highly coveted cover CD, showcasing his diverse, expansive palette as both a skilled producer and also a highly accomplished DJ. Having revisited the project’s material with updates and edits throughout his own live sets, the Frenchman now welcomes an impressive cast of emerging and established names to remix the package, spanning pockets of IDM and ambient textures through to warping techno as he releases the four-part ‘Mercurial Skin Remixes’ on Taapion this September.

I Hate Models & Anetha’s ‘Tribal Reconstruction’ of Minotia opens the package with authority, with the French duo harnessing the original’s ethereal textures with menacing bass licks and hefty kicks, whilst rising talent Hadone’s interpretation sees the original’s spellbinding lead melody backed by soaring synths and pacy drum arrangements. Kas:st and Raar keep the energy high as they offer up a commanding version of ‘Napalm’, before Schacke’s ‘Sis Remix’ of ‘Brother’ fuses slick drum licks with rich strings to form an emotive cut that rounds out the first package.

Telefon Tel Aviv’s ‘Dub Remix’ sees the US talent take influences from two cuts from the album as he offers up the enchanting and serene ‘Hadal Skin’, Regis and Simon Shreeve combine to reveal the hypnotic and warping remix of ‘Napalm’ under their CUB guise, before handing over to In Aeternam Vale who accents the wandering melodies of title cut ‘Mercurial Skin’ with laser sharp kicks and tripped out vocal snippets. Netsh completes the offering in style, highlighting the original lead melody whilst interjecting slick drums as he delicately lends his hand to ‘Hadal Zone’.

Next, title track ‘Mercurial Skin’ sees new life via Ellen Allien’s ‘Remix 1’ as the BPitch Control boss lays down a series of acid-tinged synths patterns, whilst Reeko’s remix of ‘Brother’ ups the energy and channels the track’s intense vocals to deliver an ominous peak time offering. Benjamin Damage’s remix of ‘Mouais’ combines rich organic percussion and sweeping atmospherics, whilst Sodeyama’s hypnotic version of the track offers up a spellbinding five-and-a-half minute journey through pockets of space and serenity.

Lastly, Ellen Allien’s ‘Remix 2’ of ‘Mercurial Skin’ welcomes eerie synths amongst bumping bass licks, whilst Yogg & Pharaoh unleash off-kilter synths and sinister tones throughout ‘Maara’. Antigone and fellow Taapion co-founder AWB lower the tempo and bring a moment of rest to the fore with their slick interpretation of ‘Ivory’, working spectral sounds amongst precise drum shots, before handing over to Hadone who delivers his second remix of ‘Minotia’, this time opting for an all-out assault of high-octane drum arrangements contrasted against underlying core melodies and completing the package in style.

Premiere: BOHO & Maksim Dark’s “Octopussy” Receives Three New Remixes

“Remember when Jannowitz records released Octopussy EP by BOHO and Maksim Dark early this year? Remember when we already spoiled with our outstanding remixers Stefan Biniak, Acumen and Justin James? Octopussy was such a success that Jannowitz asked completely new faces to join the label and play with the Octopussy. And we couldn’t believe what happened next.

Three producers said yes. The headquarter went crazy! The result is nothing less than an entire “Octopussy Remix EP” touching everything between house and techno – just like the original EP.

Kellerkind is our second Stil vor Talent act on this EP. He has been in the business for more than a decade and knows his shit. His housy Octopussy edition surprised us by using a lot of elements from the original but still achieving to sound totally different from the blueprint. Rounding “Octopussy Remix EP” off with nice vibe and some new killer members of our family.” – Jannowitz Records

Techno Therapy: Slam – Factory Music (Remixes)

Slam

Although Slam didn’t make Resident Advisor’s Top 100 this year, it’s undeniable that the duo had one of their greatest years yet. Releasing their 5th album Reverse Proceed, running Soma Records, and sharing the booth with any techno DJ worth their salt, 2014 was more than kind to Slam. Reverse Proceed is a beautiful compilation of 14 original tracks that truly push the boundaries of techno. Atmospheric dub textures? Ya they got that. Analog and modular sequences that make me feel as if I’m raving in the year 2099? Ya…they nailed that too. If it were up to me, this would win album of the year…but alas…it’s not, and I digress. Out of those 14 tracks, they recently released a “reinterpretation” EP on Soma which invites the immensely talented Planetary Assault Systems and Flug to remix Factory Music, a track clearly aimed at the center of the dance floor. For Techno Therapy today, we bring you the remix package of Factory Music, and all of it’s techno goodness.
