German Brigante and Yamil’s Moroccan Twist on ā€œBasariā€ EP

Sabo’s record label Sol Selectas presents a collaborative release by Spanish artists German Brigante and Yamil. On this track, German Brigante and Yamil are both influenced by the traditional Gnawa music of Morocco as they incorporate funky basslines and melodic elements that are intertwined with tribal percussion, and ethereal vocal chants.

On similar tracks, Amine K (Moroko Loko) andĀ Mr. ID are featured remixers on the EP — both of who are Morocco’s renowned electronic music artists. So who better to rework tracks inspired by the traditional music of their homeland?

Latroit Revives Static Revenger Alias with The Sponges on “Music In My Mind” EP

Best known by his aliases Latroit and Static Revenger, Dennis White is a Grammy Award-winning music producer that’s inspired by Detroit’s underground scene. His homage to Detroit techno also influenced is take on modern dance music.

For Music In My Mind, Dennis has revived his Static Revenger alias alongside the “dukes of disco” duo The Sponges (Ryan Slepin and Nik Eaton). The South Florida duo and Dennis create a dance-worthy track that incorporates a blend of groovy/disco, and tech-hosue elements.
