San Francisco techno stalwart Max Gardner has inaugurated his and Cory Simpson‘s Peer record label with a five-track EP. The concepts comprising This is a Test [PEER001] range from cold and contemplative to bold and incendiary, hinting at what’s to come from the fledgling imprint.
This week’s featured Global Vibe Radio mix artist is Tunnel, an anonymous DJ and producer that embodies his mysterious motto of, âThrough the darkness, towards the light within.” The mix is a live recording from Tunnel’s performance at Overlook NYE/NYD in Minneapolis.
Since 2013 the Chicago-born Tunnel (Ryan Miller) has released over 80 releases for record labels devoted to gritty, industrial-laden, innovative techno and experimental music – labels such as Gegen Records, House of Reptile, Etichetta Nera, and his own imprint, Webuildmachines.

Szmer is an alias of MichaĆ Aleksiewicz that came into light by the end of 2019, but he has been active in the techno world since 2011 and since that time he took part in many events in both Poland and Worldwide (including Tresor and Suicide Circus in Berlin as The Effaith). He published many records under three aliases in the span of many years. Szmerâs tracks were released by record labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Truncate, Symbolism, Out of Place, R3volution or Prophet Recordings. Artists that inspire him the most are Planetary Assault Systems, Jeroen Search or Sterac aka Steve Rachmad. Read more
Brazilian artist Sheefit delivers today’s Guest Mix.
Born in Campinas City (Brazil), Sheefit, real name Gabriela Mariano, started her professional career in 2001, and really reinvented herself during the years.
As resident in legendary clubs and parties in her hometown, and also former member of “Motormorfoses” project, a complex live set without any computer on the setup. The “Motormorfoses” duo made their first European tour in 2007, fixing home in Barcelona and branding their name in the hard techno scene all over the world by performing live and 4 decks sets in many of the greatest techno festivals and clubs in Europe and beyond. As producer, she has many releases by several labels and her tracks are played by importantly artists such as Volvox, Kobosil, Shlomo, and more.

A WrocĆaw DJ, a resident at CiaĆo, a founder of Affekt and Velvet Vortex, Aksamit is definitely a rising talent in the polish techno scene. Her love of vinyl led her to the Berlin club Tresor, in which she played during the iconic Klubnacht & All You Need Is Ears. In Aksamit’s compositions, you can find hypnotic sounds of ambient, deep techno and tribal.
Marked by his awakened sensibility to depth, Feral consistently carries a thread of spirituality throughout his work. He has inherently embodied the spirit of deep techno, of which defines Hypnos Records, through his passion for audio engineering, hardware experimentation and fascination for percussive instruments. Feralâs affinity for the shamanic calls of the tribal drum have led him across the world to discover and nurture his defining sound. Finding comfort in the solitude of his studio, Feralâs visions emerge in the crepuscular hours of his native city, Rome. With a heightened sense of spatial awareness, the sounds of Feral unearth the path of his multidimensional world, transporting the listener to a haunting, yet grounding refuge within.
Following the warm reception of Change, Release, Rift on Observant, Other Form returns to his own label for Unknown Movementsâ final release of 2021. October has brought nothing short of great albums, EPs, and mixes from the underground techno community. The artist has been on a roll and continues to garner success in his musical endeavors. Set to be released Friday, October 15, Vladw’s EP will be a fire way to jump-starting the weekend in hypnotic ecstasy as well as ending Hispanic Heritage month with cultural empowerment.
