Premiere: Listen to Ethnikman’s “Aoulouz” Off Forthcoming 18-Track Debut LP “Ahwach”

Ahwach is the debut album from Ethnikman aka Yassine Arrahil. His 18 track opus is a masterfully inventive electronic album that is filled with influences from the worlds of folk and ethnic music, out on July 27th via Symphonic Distribution and available for pre-order now on Juno.

Ethnikman is born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and grew up in Marrakesh, Morocco, surrounded by a unique variety of inspirational sounds that still inspire and influence him to this day. He has previously made hip hop, engineered live events and graduated at the SAE Institute of Rotterdam. An avid collector of old folk LPs and 45rpm records, his quest for forgotten ethnic sounds now comes full circle as he present a whole world of them in this fresh electronic album in an “Ethnic House” style. Each track’s name represents a remote village in Morocco, from which the “Ahwach” of that region preserve their authentic chants, music and performance for centuries.

Premiere: Listen to Carbon Electra & Olly Davis’ “Funk Me” Out On Intec Digital

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead who’s legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

Following recent releases from the likes of Boris, Darren Emerson, Cristian Varela and Tomy DeClerque, this new collaborative EP presents Olly Davis and Carbon Electra.

From a young age Northern Ireland born Olly Davis had a fascination with rhythm and grew up playing the Irish Bodhran Drum. Getting older, he soon discovered electronic music and his love of percussion translated well into the sequenced loop of a drum machine. Picking up DJ residencies and playing for nights such as Defected In The House, Cream, and Ministry Of Sound, Olly has supported some of the world’s biggest DJ’s including Carl Cox who has signed him to Intec after spotting his talent both behind the decks and in the studio.

Olly, who now lives in Australia, has previously released on Rawsum, Hausity, Witty Tunes, plus Sam Devine’s label D-Vine Sounds. This collaboration with Carbon Electra showcases why Carl Cox considers him to be such a talent. Carbon Electra is a secretive artist making their debut release with this stunning collaborative EP.

With his When Peace Descends EP Chicago techno producer, DJ, label owner and party curator Tunnel continues on his mission to create soundscapes that transcend the techno commonly found on dance floors world over. The package, which begins with four originals from Tunnel himself, takes listeners on a journey through the producer’s mind — a dark trip characterized by elements of ambient sounds, raw bass and techno that perfectly combine for a unique listening experience.

On top of four originals, the EP package contains five distinct remixes from Donor, Luis Flores, Axkan, NX1 and [wk]es.
