Fabrizio Rat Lands On German Label Odd/Even With 12-Track “Unconscious Mind” LP

Following three EPs and one LP, Fabrizio Rat releases his second solo album on Odd/Even, the German label ran by Andre Kronert.

Alongside his intensive touring Fabrizio Rat has never stopped producing, and his upcoming 12 track Unconscious Mind album is the result. The album is conceived entirely for the dancefloor, with no rest and no breath, no ambient or “quiet” tracks. Melodies emerge at times, resulting from original orchestrations of piano and machines. At other times more violent and static textures explore the extreme repetitions of piano harmonics, combined with slowly evolving filter-sweeping hypnosis.

Premiere: Andres Campo Debuts on Intec Digital with “Cyclone” EP

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead who’s legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell, and the new release is from Andres Campo.

Spanish artist Andres Campo makes his Intec debut following previous releases on Second State, MOOD, RUKUS and Odd Recordings

Already championed by some of the biggest names in techno, Andres has risen to fame as a solo artist, but also boasts collaborations with people like Ramiro Lopez and Alberto Ruiz.

Carl Cox is one of the people who regularly supports his tracks and adding Intec to an already impressive back catalogue of labels, this three track EP showcases Andres Campo at his very best.

Hard hitting with hypnotic grooves and captivating atmospherics, this release also has powerful synths making it the perfect peak time EP.

The opening track “Cyclone” is all about the exhilaration of lead synth and its stabbing rhythms layered with a heavy kick drum and fast flowing clap rhythms.

“Ancient Gods” ripples with tension as the pulsating percussion rhythms beat like a heart with a heightened pulse rate that’s been raised by excitement. With a captivating sense of urgency, this cut will whip the dance floor into a frenzy with the way it teases each and every drop along the ride.

Finishing things is the understated “Glaciar” which builds steadily towards a twisted crescendo of sinister FX and growls, before its explosive percussion kicks back in. Keeping you on the edge of your seat, its ominous atmosphere is beyond intense.

Track List:

01. Cyclone
02. Ancient Gods
03. Glaciar

Andres Campo’s Cyclone EP, released on Intec Digital, is available on Beatport

Premiere: Jamaica Suk’s “Whispers” EP On Gradient Delivers Four Dance Floor-Ready Techno Punches

With recent appearances on Boiler Room and the Groove Magazine Podcast plus sets across Asia and Europe, Jamaica Suk’s fearsome techno sounds are winning fans far and wide. A year on from her debut release on her own Gradient label comes this stunning second volume.

Jamaica’s Whispers, released on the vinyl imprint she launched last year, is a three-track digital release with a fourth vinyl-only track.

“Fallen,” our premiered track today, sets it out of the stall immediately, with filtered down acidic bass playing out a jagged groove. A manic counterpart mimics its rhythm but dizzily delays off the beat to create a rugged, funk-fuelled feel. Cymbal rides pitch up and down; unidentified snarls of FX mutate around the edges; all the while the sharp hi-hats keep the metronomic heartbeat going.

Tracklisting:

A1 Jamaica Suk – “Stinger Ray”
A2 Jamaica Suk – “Fallen”
B1 Jamaica Suk – “Whispers”
B2 Jamaica Suk – “Twilight Rain”

Premiere: Uncrat Launches Proper Line EP With “A Present From My Plant” EP

Uncrat kick-starts its Proper Line label activity with his A Present From My Plant EP, an impressive solo release crafted by Donato himself.

The EP is driven by the mix of organic atmospheres and metal percussion. Recognizable inside, are some adverbial locutions and verses, typical of human beings.

The combination of voices and waning melodies that seem to come from an existence far from our present. The whole EP is meant for the dancefloor, melodic, lunatic and emotional.

It’s imbued with a sense of melancholy and carefree at the same time, using sounds, which are found somewhere in the last years of the last century. The sense of darkness is around the corner but is cleverly stifled by evocative pads and voice notes, not all.

The acid squelching treatment given by Uncrat will leave the listener with a good rusty taste and the thirst for more.

A Present From My Plant EP is available via Proper Line’s Bandcamp

Interview: Kaz James’ Latest” Life In Purple” EP Brings True Emotions to Circus Recordings

Australian DJ/Producer Kaz James follows up a string of huge releases with his new EP Life In Purple, out on Yousef’s Circus Recordings. A huge, emotionally-charged house track, Kaz continues to set the bar incredibly high.

The past year has been busy for Kaz, with releases on some of the house music’s most influential labels including Glasgow Underground, Nic Fanciulli’s Saved and Dennis Ferrer’s Objektivity. Alongside this, a busy touring schedule has seen him performing worldwide, having played at Brooklyn Mirage New York, Pacha Ibiza and KOKO London, whilst holding down his residency at Scorpios, Mykonos.

Title track “Life In Purple” is a smooth and melodic track, built around slowly evolving melodies and synth lines. With a propulsive groove that never lets up, it’s a rare and emotionally engaging house track that encompasses all aspects of a strong floor filler. This killer original receives further elevation with remixes from both Ben Pearce and fellow Circus affiliate, Ki Creighton. It is this last remix by Creighton which we are premiering today, as support from industry tastemakers including Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard continues to roll in.,

Kaz James’ Life In Purple EP will be released 23rd November via Circus Recordings and is available for order here.
