Premiere: Nico Pusch Unleases Deep Grooves and Desireful Melodies with “Der Zauber Der Magie” EP on Jaw Dropping Records

It’s still the season of longing and yearning, of nostalgia – laying rolled up on the sofa in front of your fire place and watching the freezing wind shake the branches on the trees outside. It’s the season of deep grooves and desireful melodies.

The second release on Jaw Dropping Records for 2019 takes exactly this ambiance and transformed it into a four-track EP lead by no one else than Nico Pusch. You might know him from his various releases on imprints such as Lauter Unfug or Moonbootique or from one of his DJ sets throughout Germany and beyond.

The title of his first ever Jaw Dropping EP resembles just this very ambiance. “Zauber der Magie” translates to Charm of Magic and it’s title track serves what it promises. Zauber der Magie is a beautifully composed melodic deep house track that let’s you close your eyes, hope for better times, and hold the person next to you close to your heart so that he or she can feel your breath whilst being caught by the Charm of Magic.

The label found three very unique remixers to work on “Zauber der Magie”. First off, they start with a special debut! Label boss Rachel Raw teamed up with buddy Ricardo Farhat from Brazil and their result is the hardest remix on this EP and complements the soft melodic tracks by the other artists perfectly. They made “Zauber der Magie” more powerful without losing its gentle and melodic touch.

As to the second remix duo for “Zauber der Magie”: David Hasert and Francesco Mami usually work separately as artists but when it comes to music production they join forces and do their own magic. Their remix is a stripped down almost muffled version of Nico Pusch’s original that is the perfect addition to early morning sets and sunrise moments on the beach after a long night of dancing.

In order to not leave us in too much of a melancholic mood, Nico also prepared a groovier and happier track for this EP. “Love” bursts with joy because of it’s lovely melody and its fantastic vocal samples.

The remix for this one is brought to you by Luigi Gori and Frankye Lova. You know the latter from his “Abfahrt” radio shows and his release on Jaw Dropping’s sister label Jannowitz Records. Luigi Gori has been in the scene for more than 20 years with hundreds of releases. It’s a pleasure to have both of them on the imprint – with a much deeper version of Nico Pusch’s “Love”.

Nico Pusch’s Zauber Der Magie EP is out Feb 19th and available on Beatport

Premiere & FREE Download: Evver Andersson Delivers “Sonorus Opus” LP on Draug Media

Heavy textural and melodic techno from an electronic artist hailing from the isolated parts of northern Norway: Evver Andersson gets plenty of time to fine-tune his energetic and powerful techno/progressive sound thanks to his Sonorus Opus LP on Draug Media.

We are happy to be premiering a track from the 10-tracker, and to be offering it to you exclusively for FREE Download.

With his Sonorus Opus LP we see a variety covering big riff monsters to more heads down aggressive affairs. Evver Andersson is a young electronic artist from the isolated parts of Northern Norway. Having played around with DAWs on his computer for the first couple of years, he didn’t develop his own sound until his first official remix was released. In the wake of this release he has firmly established himself as one of the exciting new talent to come out of Tromsø and Norway.

“This wasn’t supposed to be an album, just an EP with a couple of tracks. The way this came about was when a label I was signed to went under. I was supposed to give out three of the tracks that are coming on this album. After they stopped operating, I kept producing records with the same sound. When I started talking with Draug Media I had 6 tracks and the count ended at 9” – Evver Andersson

Premiere: Rhod Records Releases First Compilation Featuring 16 Tracks From Eduardo de la Calle, Loss of Balance, Orbe, Kalter Ende and More

Rhod Records puts the finishing touch to this great first stage self-evaluating themselves with a compilation of fresh material supplied in part by artists close to the project and also integrated producers already in a catalogue that exhibits above all a firm commitment to sound experimentation and state of the art records that fluctuate between techno and electronics.

The extensive album is not only nourished by authors with a past related to the record company, but new and interesting faces join the label to supply the reference with 16 unpublished works with quite different registers, thus preserving the philosophy that stands the platform committed above all to the diversity and the quality of the product.

Loss Of Balance opens the album with “First Contact”, a cut of intangible techno loaded with subtleties, redundant dictions and penetrating atmospheres with which it manages to create an environment of warmth and well-being. In the consecutive Rhod Record track Eduardo De La Calle’s mood appears again, “CPD” is a cluster of cosmic details, an amalgam of infinite resources that attend both the rhythmic part and the harmonic context. With the third track the launching takes on a more mental temperament. ORBE proposes with “End Of Rise” to crack the possibilities offered by the pair of two arguments gestated with two parallel synth lines to the higest. Vlaeminck is more direct with “Crankarm” using a sharp cadence disturbed only by a sharp flared arpeggio.

Josh Powelson has taken the next step in a creative transformation that has spanned more than a decade with the launch of the techno label, JourneyDeep Black. Case in point: his upcoming release, The Strangest Dream EP which debuts the label on February 18th, 2018.

As one might expect “The Strangest Dream” illuminates dark matter. A heavy yet danceable tune defined by an entrancing melody and artful use of negative space. With hissing percussion whose musicality exists in a dissonant dream all on its own, the track sets the stage for what’s to come on label JourneyDeep Black. This is a song that could easily find its way into DJ sets from a variety of tastemakers.

Closing out the release is a heaving hitting remix from the cosmic duo Astronoize; whom continue to deliver with what they do best. The song’s throbbing kick drums, hissing percussion and curious vocal refrain take us up a notch from the original mix and takes us deeper into darkness.
