Premiere: Agent Orange Delivers Driving Remix of Josh Wink Classic “Don’t Laugh”

New York-born DJ and producer Agent Orange has remixed the Josh Wink classic ‘Don’t Laugh’, out on 14th June via Nervous Records, and available on Beatport.

Pitching down the acid-soaked original and adding a thumping kick drum, Agent Orange’s rework transforms ‘Don’t Laugh’ from peak-time weapon to terrace chugger, with techno titans Carl Cox, Adam Beyer and Nicole Moudaber already giving it support. Premiere: One Track Brain Releases Five-Tracker Inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s “2001 Space Odyssey”

One Track Brain‘s latest EP is inspired by one specific scene from Stanley Kubrick’s cult movie 2001 Space Odyssey, the one where the monolith appears among a bunch of apes: The Dawn of Man.

“Nightlife and partying and dancing has to do with letting go. With losing yourself in the moment and going back to the basic knowledge of the body. And sometimes it even brings out the ape in us (laughs). Letting go of your inhibitions and allowing yourself to feel more raw emotions and naive togetherness. Just like that basic feeling of bewilderment and excitement when the apes see that monolith. So in that way, bring out the APE!“ – One Track Brain

The weighty, three-track release comes off the back of April’s 19119, and sees the veteran artist combine a tougher techno sound with more emotive, melodic elements. The EP’s title track is the clearest example of this, with a pounding kick-drum making way for a groove-laden breakdown halfway through. ‘Acid Rain’ is a heavier proposition, a full acid workout that harks back to Umek’s rave-era beginnings. Loosening somewhat, closing track ‘Constellations’ is underpinned by a steady, measured groove.
