Over 1,000 illegal ravers took to Dorsetās Lulworth this weekend, which has since jokingly been compared to the Partygate scandal, in defense of the all-night ravers. The day-long event began in the early hours of Easter Sunday when ravers descended upon Lulworth Ranges in southeast Dorset which was subsequently shut down some 21 hours later by police.
An illegal rave in the small Welsh town of Llandovery brought together hundreds of people over the weekend, ending only after police were given extra force to break up the event, South Wales Guardian reports. The illegal rave reportedly began on Saturday and continued until the afternoon of Sunday, March 27th.
Regarding the illegal party, Inspector Dawn Fencott-Price expressed, “social media was used to disclose the location at the last possible minute in order to prevent law enforcement taking preventative measures.”
Authorities shut down illegal parties during the New Year’s Eve (NYE) holiday. Despite government warnings against gatherings, people around the world still proceeded to celebrate as if COVID-19 weren’t happening. The City of New York has shut down The Brooklyn Mirage again, the secondĀ time in three weeks, based on an e-mail sent by the Department of Buildings to the local community board. The shut-down is caused by a series of safety violations that were discovered when inspectors checked out the space today.
Specifically, and according to the aforementioned e-mail, inspectors discovered wooden platforms and decks that didn’t appear structurally sound, gas piping that had been installed without a permit, extension cords being used instead of permanentĀ wiring, plywood structures that weren’t fire-rated andĀ no evacuation plan for the site. The note also mentioned other problems, including missing exit signs, unsafe exits and missing documentation on the scaffolding used on the structure.
This followsĀ an earlier DOB vacate order for safety hazards as well as police crackdown in May during a Cityfox Experience party, when authorities found the venue was selling alcohol despite not having a license.
The Cityfox Experience had a massive party lined up for tomorrow, June 18th, featuring Richie Hawtin, Eagles & Butterflies, Julia Govor, Rebolledo and more. It appeared at first that the party would stillĀ be happening at The Brooklyn Mirage without sale of alcohol. Now that the property is officially shut down, CityFox was given no option but to cancel the party. Below is the official statement:
