Having cut his teeth over the years coming up through Brooklyn’s now imperilled warehouse scene, Auspex has solidified himself as a regular fixture and contributor to its underground techno and queer nightlife scene and returns to 6AM with a specially curated Auspex playlist.

His uncompromising style has seen him tapped to play at parties like Unter and The Black Hole and clubs such as The Bunker, New York and Griessmuehle in Berlin in addition to supporting acts such as Phase Fatale, Randomer, Kamikaze Space Programme, Headless Horseman, Juan Atkins and Rebekah. Auspex’s first track dropped at the start of 2019 on Katie Rex’s “Bound” V/A followed by a handful of remixes and other contributions on V/A compilations.

Armando Mendes: My 5 Favourite Vocal Collaborations

Portuguese artist Armando Mendes makes a huge statement with his debut album Parallel Universe on Turquoise Records, which was written and recorded over two and half years between LA, London and Berlin with legends including Robert Owens, Ithaka from the N.W.A. crew and Defected’s Jinadu.

Armando Mendes is one of Portugal’s most assured artists. His rich and musical sound is informed by jazz and funk and he has played all over the world from Russia to Australia, all while picking up more than 80,000 monthly plays on Spotify for his music. His tremendous debut album ranges across the electronic music spectrum from downbeat and jazzy to deep house and electronica.

Given the three wonderful vocal contributions to the album with Robert Owens, Ithaka and Jinadu, we asked Armando Mendes to share with his five favorite vocal collaboratios.

Two funky and groovy Titans joining forces on this classic seminal UK Garage track.

Psycle’s expertly curated catalogue continues with a new addition from Pow- Low that comes hot on the heels of his Inhale EP back in June.

Pow-Low is a core part of this label and keeps serving up the goods with each new offering. He hails from the Italian part of Switzerland but his musical endeavours have taken him all over the world. He’s formally studied jazz, been playing vinyl since his teenage years, studied recording engineering and production and worked in high-end studios in Hollywood as well as being in a number of bands.

Wehbba: 10 Favorite Tracks From South American Producers

Brazilian producer/DJ Wehbba has been a hugely popular asset to the scene in recent years and is somebody who’s been considered as one of South America’s most prominent electronic music producers to play a pivotal role in the continuous growth of the techno scene in his home country and beyond.

Drumcode mainstay Wehbba hails from Brazil’s main techno hub, São Paulo. Breaking onto the international scene as early as 2006 with his release on German imprint Killa Beat, Wehbba’s status in the industry has since only grown. He’s known as a wizard in the studio, with dozens of singles and EPs to his name, along with two solo albums—2010’s Full Circle and 2013’s Square Two.

Following his popular appearance at Boiler Room SĂŁo Paulo in late 2014, Wehbba headed in 2015 for Barcelona. The move only catapulted his star further, as he established himself into the European techno scene with regular appearances on labels like Drumcode, Kompakt, Soma, Bedrock, Second State, Systematic, 2020Vision, Knee Deep In Sound and Tronic.
