On June 14th, Swedish techno emissaryĀ Joel MullĀ will be releasing his first album in eight years.
Arrow of TimeĀ is influenced by themes of traveling, time and the future, and will find a home on Sweden’s Parabel, the quality techno imprint co-founded by Mull and Linda Nillson. This is Mull’s fourth full-length, following 2011’sĀ SensoryĀ on Truesoul, and other albums and EP releases on labelsĀ such as Inside, Truesoul, Drumcode and Cocoon.
His upcoming gig schedule is intense and includes sets in Los Angeles tomorrow night for WORK by 6AM and INCOGNITO, on Monday atĀ Anthology Detroit 2019 during Movement weekend, plus gigs at Lovers Festival, Berghain and more.
A long-time friend of 6AM, Joel took time from his busy schedule to talk to us about the album, his recent EP release on Drumcode and his long-term relationship with both Los Angeles and Detroit

Omniform IIĀ is cerebral techno to the core, and follows from the highly-praisedĀ Omniform IĀ V/A release from 2017, which featured tracks from Patrick Siech, Petter B, Nima Khak, and Benjamin Mull.

Patrick began spinning records in Southern Sweden back in the late ’90s, making a name for himself as a club promoter and skilled DJ. 20 years later and this close connection and avid respect for the dance floor and its multitude of inhabitants is still at the very core of Patrickās enterprise both as a DJ and a producer.

It is no secret that here at 6AM we have a soft spot for Parabel label co-founder Joel Mull. Our respectĀ for the Swedish techno veteran is one that is both professional and personal, born out of our experiences hosting him in Los Angeles for several of our WORK x Incognito collaboration events.
One of the pillars of the Swedish techno scene, Joel has been producing and playing techno for two and a half decades, having released on some of the world’s biggest techno labels. His musical integrity is a source of admiration from fans and peers alike, while his down-to-earth and passionate approach to techno makes him \, without the sheer of a doubt, one of the nicest artists in the game.
It is thus no surprise to see legendary producer/DJ returning to the well-respected Mary Go Wild imprint,Ā with a Gorgon EP containingĀ 3 mesmerizing original tracks and a remix by Amsterdam’s JP Enfant.
On top of premiering the title track for 6AM followers exclusively, we took the opportunity to have a chat with our old friend to talk about his busy 2018 and what’s coming up for an artist that has seemingly already done all there is to do in our industry.
