CarlCoxFinalChapter

Thousands of dance music fans are planning to make the trek to Ibiza this summer to pay homage to one of the scene’s greatest, Carl Cox, as he embarks on the final Music Is Revolution journey of his career before Space Ibiza is turned over to the group that owns Ushuaïa across the street.

Although the Intec Digital boss has announced his desire to continue playing on the island as a guest DJ, 2016 truly marks the end of an era with the Final Chapter becoming one of the hottest nights of the entire season. While many will be visiting the Space dance floor during one of the 15 Tuesday dates planned for the next coming months, thousands of others won’t be able to make the farewell celebrations.

Undoubtedly, Carl himself will be the main event of each party and live stream, but as a bonus this year’s final Music Is Revolution lineup is the residency’s largest yet, with the world’s biggest underground DJs paying their respects to the big man each week with their own unique take on house and techno. You will be able to see some of the industry’s best name in action from the comfort of your home or office, no matter where you are in the world: Luciano, Chris Liebing, John Digweed, Nic Fanciulli, Sasha, Adam Beyer b2b Ida Engberg, Joseph Capriati, Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber, Pan-Pot, Kerri Chandler, Loco Dice, Carl Craig, Nina Kraviz, Marco Carola, Matthias Tanzmann, Joris Voorn, Josh Wink, Monika Kruse, Marco Bailey, Danny Tenaglia, Francois K, Masters At Work, Yousef, Kölsch, Tania Vulcano, Cirez D, Guy J, James Lavelle, Cirez D, Carlo Lio, Julio Bashmore, Catz N Dogz, Davide Squillace, Hot Since 82, Deetron, tINI and DJ Sneak are all scheduled to play.

Bjarki To Embark On Debut Solo Headline Tour

13214512_10207472495663425_1036377471_o

Bjarki, one of techno’s best up-and-coming artists, has just announced his first solo headlining tour beginning May 20th and going through to the end of June.

The Icelander producer and DJ has been one of the most sought-after rising stars in the international touring circuit since his track “I Wanna Go Bang” exploded into the scene with a literal boom. Boiler Room famously recalls Nina Kraviz playing the track for the first time during her headline set at the Stay True Scotland broadcast in summer of last year, saying that it “came real close to bringing The Caves’ roof down.” The track was released on Kraviz’s трип (Trip Recordings) and quickly became one of the most played techno pieces of the entire year.

Bjarki has since been touring on a series of Trip parties alongside Nina Kraviz. He has now announced a ten-date tour that will see him headline a series of esteemed nightclubs in North America and Mexico, as well as playing festival sets at Baum in Bogota, Movement in Detroit and a Movement Trip after-party that was selected by 6AM Editor’s as a top pick for the weekend.

The tour announcement comes ahead of his upcoming EP Trip 006 release, and a three-part album series in the fall comprising of 41 tracks total, also set to come out on Trip. Below is a video of “Baepolar”, part of the upcoming Trip 006 EP.

We selected his Movement set as the bonus performance not to be missed this upcoming Memorial Day Weekend in Detroit, so it’s safe to say that if you’re near any of the stops of his tour below, we suggest you take the time to see Bjarki in action behind the decks.

Movement To Touch Down In Croatia This Summer

Movement Croatia

Movement is expanding to the promised land of Croatia, dubbed by many as the new Ibiza following recent years of festival and party expansion.

Movement Croatia is set to debut this coming July with a large roster of techno and house talent that includes the likes of Sven Väth, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Derrick May, Octave One, Steve Rachmad, Robert Hood, Nina Kraviz, Dave Clarke and Margaret Dygas.

The Movement name has been expanding over the years, taking over the Detroit festivities in 2006 and establishing an Italian version in the northern city of Turin just over nine years ago. 2015 saw the Detroit festival touch down in Puerto Rico for a special Caribbean getaway, with the Italian version of the brand visiting Croatia for a smaller club edition last summer that now turns out was the stepping stone for the festival set to launch this July.

KORNER Taipei 2 year anniversay with Ben Klock, Nina Kraviz, Marcel Dettmann

Korner-2-year-anniversaryTaipei City is about to get a serious dose of Berlin techno starting this Saturday at KORNER, Taipei’s premiere underground event space, as they celebrate their 2 year anniversary with a stellar three show line up spanning the course of two weeks featuring Ben Klock (Dec 6th), Nina Kraviz (Dec 12th), Marcel Dettmann (Dec 19th).

This is possibly one of the boldest bookings in such a short span to come through Taipei city. KORNER’s brand and vision has remained consistent since day one by developing a platform for cutting edge electronic music and visual artists to showcase their talent aimed towards an explosion of sensual overload. 2014 has been a massive year for KORNER with quality bookings such as Ben UFO, Midland, DJ Nobu, Gerd Janson, Jesse Rose, Regis, Scuba, DVS1, John Osborn and more all making their debut showcase in Taipei.

The underground electronic music community in Asia is currently seeing a surge of top international acts making regular stops in the region further proving that the movement is alive and well. While these top acts are considered elites in our industry, they are still known to be somewhat risky in places like Taipei where house & techno events are currently seeing difficult times recently with non-sensible raids at clubs and parties creating a difficult barrier for innovative artists and promoters in Taiwan to flourish in the scene. We wish the team at KORNER the very best as they get ready for a massive two week stretch that we hope will pave the future for Taiwan’s electronic music industry. Open minds and open ears are highly recommended. Tickets and event info can be found on their Fbook event tab here.
