Rebuke's Music

RebĆ«ke’s Music Is True, For the Fans & Banging

RebĆ«ke’s music in one word: refreshing. The fresh-faced artist (DJ and producer) Reuben Keeney, who goes by stage-name RebĆ«ke, admits “Whenever I approach anything I always try and think about what are the fans going to want to hear?,” shares  Keeney. “Are they going to like this? I only do stuff for them. I don’t do stuff for labels, agents or managers.” Without fans, there wouldn’t be the community that exists in electronic music. Fans give reason for an artist, and it’s their ears the artist needs to retain if they want to be successful. People make the culture of dance music, and every artist starts at the very exact place. The greatest of greats including Nicole Moudaber, Solomun and Annie Mac all started as avid music lovers letting their passion for the game guide them knowing the rest will follow. RebĆ«ke understands the importance of not only giving fans what they want but also what it takes to keep his feet on the ground. Read more

Larry Heard Mixes Rebirth 10 For Record Label Anniversary

The Rebirth 10 release by Larry Heard aka Mr. Fingers marks the 10th anniversary for the Italian Rebirth Label. This 2 CD special compilation, selected and mixed by Larry, includes key releases from the first 10 years of the label plus unreleased tracks. The release features artists like Agoria, Butch, Marc Romboy, Joey Negro, Blondish and remixes by Motor City Drum Ensemble, Deetron, Dixon, Henrik Schwarz, Nic Fanciulli, Radio Slave, Tensnake, and Ripperton to name a few.

Rebirth Records, established by Daniele ‘Shield’ Contrini in 2006, has surely matured over the years into one of the most respected independent Italian labels. When discussing the release Shield said, “The philosophy behind the label finds its roots in the past, building a link between the soul of a song and the warmth of a melody then combining them with a contemporary sound. I’m always looking for something timeless, something that I can imagine to still listen to in 20 or 40 years time. Who better than Larry Heard could do it for us? He delivered a mix that embodies the soul and the different facets of the label. Larry, as well as having remixed three songs for the label, is among the producers who had written the history of a musical genre and one of the names who most have influenced our music. The cover of the CD is designed by Emil Schult, who has created some special images for the occasion. Visiting him in his studio in Dusseldorf and breathing his Kraftwerk experience has been an unforgettable moment. I’m really pleased they both agreed to work on this project.”

The release has 49 tracks in total, spanning over two hours of timeless sounds. It is available on Beatport for $21.99; listen and purchase it here.

Joris Voorn B2B Nic Fanciulli at BPM 2015

Who are the strongest artists in the tech house field? Individually, Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciulli rank high on the list of prominent tech house artists, but when they join forces the result is rather fantastic. The two recently teamed up at BPM for the La Familia party, and put down an impressive set that lasted well into the morning.

Voorn and Fanciulli compliment each others style perfectly, which resulted in a perfect fusion for their extended back-to-back. Throughout the almost five hour journey they had everything from gritty tech house, uplifting classic house cuts, vocal jams, and even included a throwback to Supermode’s Tell Me Why as the morning sun warmed the dance floor. The set is nothing short of excellent, so if you missed it you can catch the audio/video stream below. A perfect mix to get through half the work day.
