Windows 95 recently celebrated its 20th birthday. In honor of the machine and all it has provided humankind, one person has taken the Windows startup sounds, and slowed it down transforming them into pure ambient bliss. From Windows 95 to Windows XP, the textures created out of this technique yield incredible results of sonic manipulation. Evoking elements of a cinematic soundtrack, it’s hard to believe that such lush music and soundscapes could be the result of a six second startup sound for a computer.
Upon listening to these recordings it feels as if one is traveling through the different dimensions theorized in Interstellar…
The slowed down Windows startup sounds were uploaded by the Soundcloud user, ideoforms, and are available for free download. Have a listen to the original Windows 95 start up sound for reference, and then venture into the ambient journey with the rest of the versions listed in the Soundcloud player below.

âItâs about the music, man!â Thatâs the vocal snippet that comes blaring through the speakers with a heavy breaks and house influence on the first track of this Global Vibe Radio, and it is a prefect representation of Ben Teufelâs outlook on house music.
Hailing from Germany, Ben Teufel has been putting his spin on classic house music for several years releasing on labels such as Innocent Music, Smiley Fingers, Natural Rhythm, BWO Records, Pacha Recordings, and Monique Musique to name a few. With a firm grasp at the controls, both in the studio and DJ booth, Ben Teufel knows exactly how to make the dance floors sway to the groove.
In this edition of Global Vibe Radio, Ben Teufel flexes his sonic taste effortlessly moving between house cuts ranging from the massive garage basslines and jackinâ house rhythms that would seem right at home on the basement floor of Sankeys.

David Scuba, one of the founders of Superfreq Records, has just released his Low Toro EP, featuring tech house originals as well as remixes of by Pattern Drama and Finley. On this release, David Scuba masterfully blends the soulful and sultry with the funky tech vibes that we have come to love from him and the Superfreq crew.
For the past 13 years, Supefreq has fostered some amazing talent with an impressive musical catalog. The Low Toro EP features two original tracks: Everything delivers a heavy, hypnotic groove with massive bass and stuttered vocals, while Not Franc moves in a more minimal direction. The former track also features remixes by Pattern Drama which give an entirely new spin on what will surely be a hit on the dance floor.
Growing up in 1990’s NYC, David Scuba was raised on a proper regiment of underground house and other dance styles. He first made his moves in the industry working A&R for several labels, such as Timeless Groove and Real Music Deal. In the early 2000’s, he teamed up with Mr. C to develop the Superfreq label, and here we are today.

Gesaffelstein’s official site has gone offline as of this morning, and in place a 63 day countdown begins. After a memorably dark and intense performance at Coachella for his last live show for the Aleph album tour, the prince of techno and mastermind remained silent following the release of “Conquistador,” a collaborative piece with Jean-Michel Jarre. “Conquistador” was released as a single the day after Weekend 2 came to a close.
Notorious for his mind-blowing and meticulously curated visual shows depicting black and white scenes reminiscent of pages in art history books, Gesaffelstein is no stranger to orchestrating music that dwells upon visceral fascinations from distant and dark corners of the mind. His music is strangely pure in form and execution, yet it elicits sensuously hedonistic tendencies that remain silent amidst calculative consciousness. Gesaffelstein has consistently played for Hard Events in Southern California and has risen to the top ranks, headlining Hard Day of the Dead and most recently Coachella.
What will happen as the fated day of September 11 approaches? We may be hopeful that a new album is in the works or perhaps an opening of a new era by Mike Levy.

Weâve all had this momentâŠYou attend one of those club nights where the music and rhythm conquer all, and by the time the morning comes all you really want to do is sit, relax, and watch the sunrise somewhere. Sure there may be an after party going down somewhere but thatâs not in the cards for you. But just because youâre not keeping the party going doesnât mean you donât want to have a peaceful soundtrack to your morning.
Hereâs a collection with some of our favorite chill-out, ambient, and post-party tracks to enjoy after a proper night of raving.
Newworldaquarium â Thousand Oaks
Ostgut Ton is the record label associated with the famed Berghain in Berlin. Like any record label, Ostgut Ton adheres to a very distinctive and recognizable style of music that gives the label and brand itâs unique identity. While the label has released massive and pulsating techno over the years from the likes of Terence Fixmer, Marcel Dettman, Nick Höppner, Norman Nodge, and moreâŠthere is a peaceful side to Ostgut Ton too.
On Panorama Bar 06 we enter the contemplative moments that may be experienced in the famed techno Mecca. Newworldaquarium delivers Thousand Oaks, a completely beat-less ambient piece that captures so many emotions. Ambient pads and spacey textures leave one feeling as if youâre suspended in a stasis. As the sun starts to rise and you look back on the evening, let Thousand Oaks be the soundtrack to your thoughts.
Slam â Reverse Proceed Album
Slamâs 2014 album, Reverse Proceed, is the pinnacle of a proper electronica/techno release. From the opening track of Tokyo Subway the album keeps layering itself into multifaceted dimensions of ambient electronica and techno. Weaving through ambient bliss in the form of tracks like Visual Capture and Reverse Proceed, the album proceeds to take things to a more danceable realm with tracks like Pattern A3 and Factory Music. The first few tracks truly capture the morning atmosphere after the party, and overall Reverse Proceed is a fantastic electronic album.
If mainroom vibes are what youâre after you might want to check out some of the remixes of Factory Music.
Claro Intelecto â Momento
Manchester based artist, Claro Intelecto, is a magician when it comes to procuring hypnotic electronic music with a little bit of a kick. On his album Warehouse Session we see Claro Intelecto take things in many directions. One of which being his low slung tripped out take on the original track Momento. While itâs not a beat-less ambient track by any means, it has all the elements of an early morning after hour burner. A deep kick and rumbling bassline lays at the foundation, as a FM treated lead pulls you deeper and deeper into the afterhour. Itâs distant, provocative, and done with class that only few artists can pull off.
Donato Dozzy – Aqua 2
Italian artist, Donato Dozzy, is the definition of a sonic craftsman. Heâs a deep techno specialist capable of delivering intricate compositions as well as techno best suited for the main room of a club night. Aqua 2 is one of the tracks coming from his album, The Aquaplano Sessions, and it does not disappoint. The entire album is fantastic, with Aqua 2 being one of our favorites.
TM404
We first found out about TM404 through his set in the MIND Room at Richie Hawtinâs ENTER Party in Ibiza. While it does have ambient moments, it is by no means an ambient set. He caught our attention with his precise control and programming of instruments like the 303 and 909 drum machines, amongst many others., and that inclined us to look further into the catalog of Andreas Tilliander. From the tracks on his Soundcloud we were drawn into the deep textures of Time Track, a heady electronic piece from his Mokira alias.
Steve Foulds â Black Light
Black Light is dub techno at itâs finest. Right as the track starts the audio spectrum is filled with white noise and quintessential dubbed out chords that give the track a sense of peaceful tension. The chords obviously carry the track, but like most dub techno one must hone in on the sonic subtleties that all contribute to curating the cohesive vibe.
Petre Inspirescu â Talking Waters
Romania is no stranger to long parties and beautiful mornings. With a full low end and floating percs, Talking Waters locks you in to an entrancing rhythm that is the perfect way to wind down from a long night. Throughout the 14 minute journey of the track, Petre Inspirescu include the beautiful sounds of a steel drum that gives Talking Water that extra bit of flare making this an essential addition to the post-party playlist.

Thereâs a lot to look forward to this month, the No. 19 Spring Sampler being one of the main items on the menu. The twelve-track sampler features tracks from many of the No. 19 mainstays, as well as some new treatments from the likes of Guti and Hector. From start to finish the No. 19 Spring Sampler is a showcase of beautifully constructed electronic pieces that expresses the range of both the artists and label alike.
