Moscoman - Time Slips Away

Track By Track: Moscoman Talks Us Through His “Time Slips Away” Album

2020 has seen the release of Moscoman’s long-awaited second LP. Time Slips Away on Moshi Moshi. In the studio Moscoman has always switched up from one release to the next: raw and rugged machine disco, melodic techno and wonky house on past record labels Because, Life And Death, Greco-Roman/City Slang and his own label Disco Halal. Time Slips Away shows Moscoman staying true to his roots, while exploring new sonic textures with more direct themes. The LP also sees him collaborate with artists Tom Teleman, Vanity Fairy, Wooze, Niki Kini and Nuphar.

In Interview with Moscoman

Son of Israel, proprietor of record label Disco Halal and an increasingly influential figure in alternative club culture over the past few years, Moscoman has long been dancing to the beat of his own drum. From his beginnings across the dive bars of Tel Aviv, bridging the myriad sounds of his homeland with alien electronic excursions from much further afield, to his current success doing much of the same to ever-widening audiences, the musical boundaries of Moscoman have long since blurred, evolving only forward, effortlessly bridging the gap between new-wave, house, techno, trance and a sound increasingly all of his own.

For evidence of man like Mosco’s studio prowess, not to mention his seemingly limitless imagination, look to 2017’s ‘Treisar’, an ambitious project that saw no less than eight individual Moscoman EPs arrive on vinyl in less than twelve months. Each showcasing a different idea, tempo and flavour, the still-to-be-completed series provided unexpected anthems that snuck up on dancefloors just as the next edition rolled out of the pressing plant and disappeared from shelves.

In parallel with his restless studio experimentation, a relentless touring schedule has taken Moscoman across the world from his native Israel and current home in Berlin to Asia, America and across Europe, adapting but never altering his sound for festival gigs and impressing with an ambitious live set at Primavera Sound and DGTL. Still, it’s when left alone to orchestrate sweat-drenched, open-minded, open-hearted dancefloors that Moscoman’s musical idealism and years of skill best harmonise into something special.

One of these upcoming special moments is the upcoming Diynamic Festival , which Moscoman has been invited to play for the first time. After the huge success of Diynamic festival 2018 and of course the most recent ADE showcase, the Diynamic family returns to Amsterdam for the seventh Diynamic Festival in 2019.

We caught up with Moscoman to talk about his relationship with Diynamic and to discuss what he has planned for 2019.

Moscoman Talks About His New EP on Disco Halal and The Influence Israel Has On His Music

Moscoman is just about to release his new EP I Ran on his imprint Disco Halal, the label with which he has been flying the flag for middle-eastern flavored disco and house for the past three years, releasing standout albums and EPs from the likes of DJ Tennis, Autarkic, Simple Symmetry, Naduve and more.
A patented dance floor scorcher, “I Ran” sees Middle-eastern vocals thread their way through a lofty percussive blend, simmering up a psychedelic energy which will be turning dance-floors upside down for times to come. On the flip, trusty Disco Halal comrades Simple Symmetry, the duo responsible for ‘Voodoo Your Ex’, one of 2017’s most rinsed anthems, spin “I Ran” into a chugging guitar anthem, all in cinematic twist and turns.
Moscoman has also announced his upcoming European tour which will see him play throughout the UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany and further afield. 2017 was very much the year he exploded on a global scale with multiple US tours, festival slots at Glastonbury, Primavera, Melt, Farr, Exit, Love International, Lente Kabinet and the launch of his label Treisar through which he released an EP of his own productions every month.
6AM had a chat with the traveling man to discuss the release, his label and the influence his roots have on his musical output.

PL0T Miami Celebrates 10 Years of Cutting-Edge Underground Electronic Music Events

Ten years is an eternity when it comes to electronic music event brands. It is rare for clubs to stay open that long, so for an individual party brand to be able to stand the test of time and break the decade mark is a testament to the quality of their programming and overall party curation.

This Saturday, March 18th, PL0T Miami is celebrating their 10 year milestone with a special event at The Electrick Pickle in Downtown Miami. For the special occasion, the party curator has organized a lineup featuring none other than Innervisions extraordinaire Âme, label-mate Marcus Worgull and the Miami debut of Moscoman.

6AM spoke to Rebeca Lange, the founder and head of Unreal MGMT, the company behind the PL0T brand, ahead of the 12-hour soiree planned this weekend:
