Modus’ New Label, Operandi, Debuts Compilation
Techno producer Modus’Ā new label, Operandi, has recently launched and with it welcomes a delicious dark techno compilation. Born Joshua Garcia, the Los Angeles-native artist and now label head wasn’t always about the synthesizers, hi-hats or drum machines. Coincidentally enough, “Drum Machine Love,” aptly named, is his featured track on the label’s debut compilation. Before going down the electronic rabbit hold,Ā Josh admits he was more into rock, emo and underground hip-hop. However, that all changed at the ripe age of 20 that all changed. After attending his first rave, he knew it was love at first sound. The rest, as they say, is history.

Josh Garcia aka Modus has built a steady reputation for being one of the up and coming musical tastemakers, selectors, and producers. The Los Angeles native is a musically trained drummer and guitarist ā music naturally became an innate part of Modusā life.
Since starting out his career performing in Barcelona clubs while living abroad, Modus has had the opportunity to play amongst the worldās leading musical heavyweights and DJ superstars such as: Adam Beyer, Claude Von Stroke, Justin Martin, Paul Ritch, Pleasurekraft, and Simian Mobile Disco at Los Angelesā top venues that include: Sound Nightclub, Avalon, Exchange LA, as well as the popular music festival, Electric Daisy Carnival.
On May 15th Modus will be releasing his latest EP, a two-track combo entitled PerceptionsĀ that will be out via LA based record label Understated Recordings.
