In this week’s episode of Global Vibe Radio we invite Washington D.C. based producer, DJ and label-head Zenbi with a one-hour guest mix featuring tracks by RebÅ«ke, Dario Dā€™Attis and Zenbi himself, amongst others.

Raised in Philadelphia and based in Washington D.C., Zenbi has found a second home in Brooklyn acting as a partner in Soup NYC. With newly-minted residencies at several of the hottest dance clubs in the world and a string of chart topping releases on some of dance music’s most prestigious labels including Suara, Great Stuff, Hotfingers, 303 Lovers, Pacha, Stereo, Skint, InStereo Recordings, and Twisted among others, Zenbi continues to work hard to refine and perfect his soulful, tribal-infused sound.

From the studio, Zenbi’s productions have been successfully featured on over 100 releases – receiving massive support from an ever-increasing list of talented producers.Ā As a DJ, Zenbi tries to maintain a consistency to his sets that matches his production work, by combining a variety of influences and styles – deep, soulful, gritty, and a quality he describes unabashedly as ‘chuggy’

Q&A and 6AM Guest Mix: AXKAN (Live at EVOLVE 2018 : MORD Showcase)

AXKAN showcases his techno prowess with a live recording of his Hybrid Live/DJ Set at EVOLVE 2018 : MORD Showcase held at The Works in Detroit during Movement weekend.

AXKAN is a talented producer based out of Los Angeles whose techno is highly influenced by Industrial and EBM sounds, alongside ethnic rhythms. His darker and noisy style of Techno is a highly sought out sound and can be found on several labels including his own OMEN Recordings, as well as Advanced (Black), The Cast Project, Reloading Records, SecreTechno, Rheostatus, From 0-1, GBB, Aerotek, EDR, Format Recordings, Switch Off, and more.

He will be performing a 2-hour Hybrid Live/DJ Set in a Los Angeles warehouse on July 21st in direct support of SNTS. All info for that event can be found HERE.

This week’s Guest Mix is Detroit through and through, as we welcome Blank Code recording artist Joe Sousa to the 6AM decks.

Joe makes experimental and brooding electronic statements. Born and raised just outside Detroit, and a classically trained musician, he has been diving into the chasm of fresh unfounded territory, while respecting his roots and interest in heavier music. His earlier work was recognized by the Detroit-based record label Blank Code, and he subsequently has done performances and released music in their catalog. Sousa aims to convey the dissonance that makes electronic waves writhe the body.

With Movement Detroit around the corner, it seemed fitting to invite one of this year’s festival performers as well as one of Detroit’s current bright stars to the Global Vibe Radio decks: DJ Holographic.

The fundamental mission of DJ Holographic is to represent the creative and innovative identity of Detroit, and the state of Michigan as a whole. It is this energy that infuses the spirit of every project she pursues. Ariel Corley, as she is known to those close to her, sees herself not only as a performer, but also as a member of a larger artistic community. As with any performer in the early stages of her career, DJ Holographic is currently developing her craft, which includes a variety of mediums: comics, music videos, radio, and more.

DJ Holographic isĀ playing Movement at the Red Bull Stage onĀ Sunday, May 27th from 3 to 4:30pm.Ā She has a monthly show on Red Bull Radio called “Stardust” that is aired fromĀ noon until 2pm EST, mixed live from Red Bull Studio in downtown Detroit.
