Celebrating the 100th release and 8th anniversary of Jannowitz records, label boss BOHO releases this Istanbul-inspired EP in collaboration with Swiss icon Khainz. The EP is full of minimal and progressive elements that are combined with dark and melodic compositions that will leave any listener wanting to hit the replay button again.
After the very well received ‘Missing EP‘ supported by Joseph Capriati, Funk DâVoid, Benjamin Damage, Stefan Weise, Temudo, Drumcomplex, Cristian Varela, Takaaki Itoh, Dj Tag, and many more, Piotr Figiel enters 2022 with ‘White Lies’, an EP influenced by Detroit and minimal techno.
His music has always been an eclectic mixture of different influences, original sound design, and great sound. Piotrâs work has been released on many Polish and international labels, among many dj and live-act club gigs. For gigs, Piotr has performed at many venues such as: Street Art Festival, Ars Cameralis Festival, and Tauron Nowa Muzyka; all of which have led him to be honored to play at the legendary Instytut festival in Warsaw back in 2017. More than just creating his own projects, Piotr also works as a producer â mixing, mastering, engineering, and helping many artists achieve their dream sounds.
Psytech producer Kleiman presents âSeedingâ, his second release with Shadow Wulf Records, featuring one original track and remixes from varying sides of the techno scope thanks to Le Son Du Placard, David Phoenix, and Myad. Gabriel Kleiman (Mexico City) has been involved in the Mexican electronic scene for more than 18 years. His first approach was as a psytrance DJ experimenting later with several more genres from progressive trance to deep house, and including tech-house and techno. As a producer, he is constant in his hypnotic style that maintains a psychedelic tendency always faithful to his roots. His talent in the art of merging all this heritage of influences in impeccable productions led him to join the Undergroove Music Family in 2015 when he released his first EP Muddy Feet. This EP had an excellent response in places like Australia, UK, and USA, finally placing him in the international spotlight. Kleiman has been playing his versatile DJ sets and live acts in all the major clubs and festivals around Mexico and worldwide during his long career, releasing on labels in Australia (Electric Power Pole), UK (Furthur Progressions), Netherlands (Anarkick Records) and Mexico (Undergroove Records). Currently Kleiman is working on his next release for Iboga Tech compilation and preparing an album for Undergroove Music.
Bringing an eclectic feel of underground techno, 2PSYCHED continues to release more on the self-created label Required Noise that he founded in 2020.
Born and raised in the Baltimore-Washington area as an American-Filipino, 2PSYCHED not only grew up with an appreciation for electronic music but for mental wellness as well. As a Graduate from the University of Maryland, 2PSYCHED began his journey in creating non-invasive ways to further bridge gaps that occur from mental wellness. Through understanding the process of how to bridge the gaps that occur from mental wellness, he began developing a greater community through leadership and management. Now, 2PSYCHED stands not only as a talented dj-producer but also as an experienced and registered acute psychiatric nurse.
Since the dawn of the first âuntz,â there has been an ongoing battle within the world of dance music about techno as a genre. In the â90s, the term was often used as a mislabel for all dance music. Today, the debate continues on what it is, and people have created other terms for it such as âbusiness techno.â However, most can agree techno is characterized by the use of a 4/4 synthesized kick drum (the âunâ in the âuntzâ), repetitive beats using various percussions, and heavy use of synthesizers. German producer mexCalito, releases Director’s Cut EP for Shadow Wulf Records’ sixteenth release. Mex has been focused in the studio creating constantly and rapidly maturing his mixing and mastering skills under the mentorship of fellow collaborator Dubs. Mexâs tracks are being released by some of the world’s best underground techno labels. His sound is characterized by hypnotic rolling basses and experimental rhythms and effects, a cross between Techno, Zenon, Minimal and a kind of haunting psychedelic groove. With this latest release, Mexâs matured sound is on display, showing off the connection between the technoid and minimalistic styles, and mesmerizing with a bevy of psychotropic effects for that characteristic psytech sound.
Rising Korean-American sensation SOHMI shows us why she’s commanding our attention right now with the launch of her DIY label, Permission. Kicking off with the first release is her own single ‘Time‘ – a minimal tech cut that envisions a 90’s Detroit techno-esque dreamscape brushed with a modern sheen.
Tap Newo is a producer, DJ, and studio engineer from Los Angeles who has been active since 2016. Certified in Pro Tools, he brings his eccentric style to the world of techno with original sound design opting for a more math-based approach in the studio. His music has been featured on outlets such as Mixmag Spain, XLR8R, HATE Lab, Data Transmission, and Circuit Arizona. He also recently provided support for the 6am Octopus Warehouse series with Sian in July.
