Good music, good cause. More than 200 DJs are coming together to attempt the world record for the longest ever B2B DJ set. The world record attempt will take place in aid of charity on September 25.
Streaming initiative Move the Record will return this July for a month-long series of livestream events. Launched in 2020, Move the Record was devised in response to the uncertain future and economic strain that independent record stores worldwide have faced due to the pandemic. This summer, the streaming initiative will return for four consecutive Thursdays starting from July 1st â featuring six-hour broadcasts from stores around the world featuring residents and special guests, with a view to driving online sales and foot traffic to shops that can open, and encourage customers to check-out their local vinyl record shops.

In the age of quick-sharing and fake news, it’s perhaps no surprise that just last week the entire electronic music world was upset when confronted with headlines stating tha, as of October of 2020, Facebook and Instagram were not going to be allowing any more DJ live streams on their platforms due to copyright violations.
The articles did indeed specify that Facebook and Instagram intended to make DJ live streams harder than ever, cracking down on any use of music being live-streamed without a proper license. How did this happen? The social media site had updated its terms of services to make âmusic listeningâ live streams a bannable offence.
