In May we reported Seth Troxler would be climbing Kenya’s Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and contributions for the Australian Cure Brain Cancer Foundation’s (CBCF) “Million$Mission”. Last night, Seth took to Facebook to report he had survived the trek to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro stating, “Wow, we made it to the top – this has been the best July for me yet. The buzz of this is incredible, life changing. To do it for brain cancer is even more rewarding.” Seth came in just $2,997 shy of his $100,000 goal with a grand total of $97,003 contributed.

The climb began last Thursday and Seth was accompanied by nine other philanthropists, including CBCF’s founder and renowned Australian neurosurgeon, Charlie Teo. Here is Seth and what he had to say with the first team photo before their 19,000 foot ascent:


Each individual’s mission was to raise $100,000, and have collectively raised $1,210,627 dollars. Surpassing their $1 million dollar goal. Our hats come off for this one to all who participated. Mission complete.

Seth Troxler Is Auctioning Off Part of his Vinyl Collection for Charity

On top of climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, Seth Troxler is now auctioning off part of his vinyl collection to raise money for the same charity.

The Detroit-raised producer and DJ will be selecting around two dozen of his personal favorite records from a variety of genres, all of which will go to the winning bidder.

All the money raised will go directly to Cure Brain Cancer and support their innovative research and clinical trials to help develop new treatments. To make the whole thing a little bit cooler, the winning bidder will be receiving the records from the UK via Ibiza, where they are located right now.

Seth Troxler is Climbing Kilimanjaro For Brain Cancer Charity

Seth Troxler is surely no stranger to charity work: he has cooked for the homeless in Amsterdam, deejayed for cancer charity One For The Boys and has even had a dress he wore auctioned off by fabric in London with proceeds going to the homeless.

His latest charitable project, however, is literally taking him to new heights. Today he announced via a Facebook video, which you can view directly below, that he is climbing Kenya’s Kilimanjaro to personally raise $100,000 toward a team goal of $1 million. The proceeds will go to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, the peak organization for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness in Australia.

 

 

His Facebook message reads:

“This July I’m climbing Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, to help fight brain cancer. we have set an ambitious team fundraising target of $1 million (my personal target is 100k) but with the help of my 700k followers on social, i truly believe this is achievable. how incredible would it be to use the power of social media to raise such a huge amount for a great cause? so, please, take a minute to share this video, tag your friends, and head to this link to donate if you can. every little truly does help. love seth x

It is amazing to see a pillar of the electronic music community of Seth Troxler’s stature using his outreach and influence to do good in the world. I have personally just contributed to the charity project and hope a lot of you can too!
