An artist that needs no introduction, John Digweed is a household name for lovers of underground electronic music. Consistency and passion have kept John Digweed at the helm of electronic music for more than 30 years. Recognized as one of the world’s greatest electronic music DJ and producers, he recalls his humble beginnings broadcasting at Londonâs Kiss 100 FM, and now, Digweed and his show “Transitions” celebrate 20 years of being on the radio. Averaging around 104 hours of radio playtime a year, each show consistently places its focal point on both playing new music and helping showcase fresh talent. Digweed has featured 232 total hours worth of live mixes across 835 total episodes.
In this exclusive interview, Digweed shares lessons learned along the way and why organic growth will always be king.
“I’m not going to lie, I kind of like this quarantine,” said Russian DJ Serge Devant over the phone. Serge Devant is finding balance amidst the COVID-19 turmoil. The DJ and producer recognizes he’s fortunate to be riding out the lockdown in Miami. Having lived in New York City before, he knows that living in close and small quarters can be rough. However, it was New York City that started it all for him.
Growing up, Serge Devant frequently visited New York City, and it was during those trips that he got his first taste of the club culture. Unable to resist the club bug, he moved to the Big Apple in 1994 and hasn’t looked back since then. He spent much of his adolescence in the concrete jungle, and it wasn’t until his residency at Crobar NYC where he played alongside Carl Cox and Tiesto that his DJ career went into full throttle. He decided to trade the cityscapes and skyscrapers for oceanviews and palm trees and relocated to Miami, one of the U.S. hubs for dance music.
For the past ten years, David LĂłpez and Carlos Cruz, together known as Lopezhouse, have been carving a path for themselves in the progressive house and techno scene.
After a slew of solid underground releases, the duo broke onto the international scene following 2015âs single âMude Todâ, released on prolific dance label Dirtybird. Since then, the duo have gone from strength to strength, teaming up with Berlin-based Exploited for several releases, and catching the attention of scene legend John Digweed, subsequently releasing on his label Bedrock.

Underground visionary John Digweed continues his acclaimed âLive InâŠâ mix compilation series with Last Night at Output, commemorating the ultimate closing set at the Brooklyn clubbing institution. Recorded live on New Year’s Eve 2018, fans of John Digweed, underground dance music, the club, and those who were in attendance can now celebrate this night in dance music history with this special musical memento and collector’s item.
