MILLA LOU Q&A

Conquering the Globe with MILLA LOU

MILLA LOU stands for dark and atmospheric techno sounds. Her vision of depth and powerful melodies combined with hard bass and underground vocals blend melodic indie dance with the euphoric feeling of hard raves. Her sets are characterized by specially selected and often ‘already forgotten’ or unknown tracks, which she repurposes in her personal renaissance. However, she also has the prestige to  help herself from the pool of the JAW labels, making her music even more unique. Read more

Digging Deeper with BOHO

If you’re an avid reader of our site you will be very familiar with BOHO and his Jannowitz Records and Jaw Dropping Records imprints, as we have featured premieres and releases from both labels plenty of times, and have also invited BOHO for the 116th edition of our weekly Global Vibe Radio mix exactly a year ago today, on June 12th of 2018.

BOHO is the artistic project of Lars Kohl, a German producer, DJ and label owner who has made progress by leaps and bounds over the last five years across all spectrums of his electronic music endeavors. Based out of Cologne, Lars’ imprints have been churning out quality techno and progressive-tinged releases for the best of 5 years now, with artists the likes of Maksim Dark, Kaiser Souzai, Matt Sassari, Alberto Ruiz and Justin James just as a selection of the names who have released on Jannowitz.

At 6AM we thought it was time to formally sit down and have a chat with Lars to learn more about both the BOHO and Jannowitz projects, as well as about him on a more personal level.

Premiere: Listen to Drumcomplex’s Remix of Maksim Dark’s “Sunfire” for Latest EP on Jannowitz Records

Jannowitz Records’ relationship with Maksim Dark has come a long way from the days Jannowitz first heard this uber-producer’s skills on imprints like Oliver Huntemann’s Sense and Dubfire’s Sci+Tec.

What has ensued is a series of releases on Jannowitz, culminating in this latest EP, titled Sunfire. A comparably small EP for Jannowitz standards, Surefire consists of two tracks and one remix by Drumcomplex, also a dear friend of the label and a more than well-known producer in Germany and beyond.

Here Drumcomplex takes “Sunfire” and creates his own version of it. His remix is more loopy, more tooly, taking the best parts of the original and creating a vibe with a stronger kick, less focus on the baseline and more on the dance floor.

Maksim Dark’s Sunfire EP is out April 15th on Jannowitz Records and available HERE
