Ibiza Banner

Another summer seems to have come and gone so quickly. The 2015 Ibiza season was once again filled with fun, sun, and absolute debauchery.  There is so much diversity on the island with each brand and venue providing their own unique experience throughout the week that there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you were dreaming about the White Isle, actually exploring it, or lucky enough to be there grooving until the morning hours, it goes without saying that a summer in Ibiza is unlike any other.

With September now here, the attention of many shifts to the ample amount of closing parties taking place on Ibiza. As expected, the options are nearly endless and it’s tough to go wrong with any of Ibiza’s closing parties – but we made an attempt to pick some of our favorites. It was no easy task, but here are some of the best 2015 Ibiza closing parties.

Jesse Rose Offers Reward for his Stolen Belongings in Ibiza

jesse rose press

It wasn’t all fun and games in Ibiza this past weekend for Jesse Rose and Junior Sanchez, as the two had valuable items stolen from their car Friday night outside the restaurant, Balafia.

According to Facebook statements by Jesse Rose and Junior Sanchez, the two lost all items they had with them on tour such as laptops, hard drives, USB’s, and luggage. Jesse Rose and Junior Sanchez have devastatingly lost countless amounts of music, as well as various unreleased projects and albums that were in the works.

Both Rose and Sanchez have released statements on their Facebook pages indicating that they will not press charges if the music is returned, and are offering a reward to anyone who can assist in the recovery of the stolen goods.

“Any clues to even just get my music back would be met with a reward, I’m not looking to charge anyone I just really, really want my stuff back and to be done with this” – Jesse Rose

Artists such as Guti have come out in support for Rose, implying that the two should make new music soon, and that Jesse Rose needs to keep his head up when facing this crippling lost. If anyone has any information relating to the theft of Jesse Rose and Junior Sanchez’s music, please email their respective contacts:

Sankeys Cuts Ties With Suara And Coyu

sankeys outdoor

Sankeys Ibiza has cut all ties with DJ Coyu and Suara, the label responsible for Coyu’s weekly event, which has drawn enormous crowds thus far. After Boom in Ibiza closed last year, DJ Coyu relocated his weekly label showcase at the Sankeys Lab. The party, which ran weekly on Friday nights and shared a venue with the Ibiza Rocks’ Shelter party, has unfortunately come to a halt yet again. Just two months into summer, Sankseys has given Suara and Coyu the boot, in spite of the latter’s willingness to follow through with this summer’s planned events. Fortunately, Suara has taken the higher ground, and will be allowing ticket holders for the cancelled events to use them at any Suara event in any city.

In a recent statement, Suara announced:

“It’s been a very tough couple of months working with Sankeys Ibiza and we’ve had to suffer all kinds of difficulties generated by the club’s management. Even though it’s the club’s duty to take the project forward we have found a constant breach of contract leading to the consequent lack of respect towards our artists and team members.

Despite our expressed willingness to continue, Sankeys Ibiza’s one-sided decision not to continue holding our events also implies a lack of respect for the public attending them, our dedicated fans and followers. We are deeply sorry of any damage this decision has caused. If you have already bought tickets for any of the remaining seven Ibiza dates, you will be able to exchange them for entrance to any Suara event around the world of your choice. Contact the label at labelmanagement@suara-music.com.”

This is not the first time that Sankeys has abruptly ended a relationship with a major partner. Several months ago, Sankeys officially terminated their relationship with Darius Syrossian for “bring the club and brand into disrepute.”

The Ibiza Bucket List

Words by: Josh Allen

To most of us stateside, a summer holiday in Ibiza is a rare luxury. So for those of you that are determined enough to make club culture’s most sought after pilgrimage, and check Ibiza off the bucket list, I wanted to share what I would recommend as the Top 10 “must have” experiences when visiting Spain’s party mecca.

Now, having spent a mere 25 days on two trips to Ibiza, I feel that my time there has allowed me to just barely scratch the surface of what the island has to offer. However, this list is a great source for somebody who wants to fully experience the Ibiza ethos. Read more

Tini & The Gang Gets Shut Down in Ibiza

Tini with Crowd

Since it’s inception, Tini & The Gang has become an integral event in Ibiza’s nightlife. Among the onslaught of world-class clubbing there’s something special about a free beach party with Tini and her respective guests. Unfortunately for Tini & The Gang and the quintessential Ibiza vibes, the fun came to a stop last week as Ibiza Police were called to shut down the event.

The news came via a mobile upload on Tini’s Facebook, with a variety of people voicing their opinion about the changing landscape and party ethics of Ibiza. According to Tini, the Ibiza Police arrived due to a complaint that was called in, but we have trouble coming to peace with the thought that someone would do such a thing in Ibiza. If that is the case, it’s a rather unfortunate one for those in attendance on that fine Friday afternoon.

Let’s hope this is the first and last time that Tini & The Gang experience a speed bump like this. May the rest of the Ibiza season for Tini flow as smoothly as the beats.

Breakthrough DJ’s of Ibiza

FUSE Closing

The season is over and all the buzzing about Ibiza has subsided for the most part. At least there was ADE to divert our attention for a bit, but word is circulating about who the breakthrough DJ’s were on the island this year. The team over at Mixmag has compiled a list of the Top 7 Breakout DJ’s of Ibiza.

The list is balanced with familiar names like Patrick Topping, WaFF, and Bella Sarris; all holding impressive residencies at parties like Paradise and ENTER, respectively. But the list also included not so familiar names such as Djebali from France, who received strong support from Apollonia and the Martinez Bros this year. It’s because of the mixture that made this a very refreshing top 7.

Having the opportunity to play on the island is a dream for most. Hell, the chance to even visit such an iconic place is a dream for any clubber or music enthusiast. But these artists all embraced the opportunity presented to them, and succeeded in delivering quality tunes and vibes to the vibrant island crowd.

It can be said that there truly is no better place to receive recognition than in Ibiza, and these seven artists stepped up and stood out from the rest this year.Make sure to keep an eye on this bunch, as they are sure to keep up the fine work worldwide.

Best Tracks of the Summer

Dennis Ferrer playing Ibiza 2014

Dennis Ferrer playing Ibiza 2014

It’s that time of year. The summer has officially ended, and dancefloors around the world are still buzzing from action packed months. At the end of the summer a frequent question arises, “what was the hit tune in Ibiza during summer?” Well, one could attempt to narrow it down
but we all know that everyone likes a different flavor; so the folks over at In the Mix caught up with some DJ’s in Ibiza to ask what their track of the summer was. Check out the full list of artists and their respective selections here

Groove Armada, Dennis Ferrer, Patrick Topping, Steve Lawler, and others all weighed in on what got the dancefloors moving for them. From the open air parties to Sankeys, there’s a little something for everyone, these are the best tracks of the summer – 2014. Each DJ selecting one track, the final list proves to be a nice blend of throwbacks, new releases, and some original productions from the artists themselves.

My personal favorite…Ze Box, the flipside to D’Julz amazing release selected by Cassy. Hard to beat a summer house tune like that.
