Freebie Friday: Those Lies (David Duriez Acid Bonus Dub)

David Duriez art

If you can’t beat them, join them. That was the philosophy of David Duriez when he decided to offer up a free download of his remix for Raw District. His take on Those Lies encompasses everything that makes for a great house track: vibrant pads, a funky bassline, solid drum patterns, and although obvious in the title, acid textures that really take the track to the next level. We expect nothing less from such a talented producer, and neither should you. Enjoy the free download, and get this weekend started off proper.

Techno Therapy: Hollywood (Clovis Remix)

Body image

Hollywood, a place that many of us call home. Located in the heart of Southern California, Hollywood is an urban playground that can satisfy one’s interests regardless of what those interests may be. This week’s Techno Therapy comes in the form of Clovis’ remix of Hollywood, and this puts us in the perfect mind set for this coming Friday.

Clovis will be playing alongside Livio & Roby at King King (Hollywood) this Friday for our first event of the year. The night is looking excellent so far, and we’re excited for all these incredible DJ’s to control the musical journey for the evening. More info can be found immediately below.

$10 Pre-sale tickets available here: WORK 02 w/Livio &Roby and Clovis
Discounted Guestlist available here: 6AM Group

Clovis did this remix as apart of the Hollywood Revisited EP on Los Angeles record label, Culprit. Culprit never disappoints, and this remix is no exception. Lush pads rising on the fourth beat, synths that make us feel nice and warm, and a subtle groove remind us why we love our city. Whatever inspired Clovis during the time is reflected in this lovely piece of smooth house music.

Clovis is an incredibly talented producer from Los Angeles, and shares a deep passion for house and the underground scene. We’re incredibly excited for his set this Friday, and look forward to another memorable night in our beloved Hollywood.

Everybody likes free music. Especially when it’s slick house cuts from the outstanding Romanian duo, Livio & Roby. Over the years they’ve racked up a number of releases on labels like Desolat, Vakant, and Viva Music while maintaining a busy touring schedule around the world. Here are two free tracks that fulfill the pure Romanian style of house and techno.

They’ve recently finished up some shows at BPM Festival, and will be playing at King King next Friday the 23rd for our first event of the new year. Everyone here at 6AM Group is incredibly excited for their LA appearance, and to express our excitement here’s two free downloads from Livio & Roby. The first free download is Livio & Roby’s remix of The Hunted by Timo Maas. A hypnotic groover that holds it’s own in true Romanian fashion. Well-polished drums weave in and out of the production as the entrancing pads add that extra bit of cerebral warmth to the track. You can download this remix in the Soundcloud player above or go to the track here on Soundcloud.

The second free download is Livio & Roby’s collaboration with their good friend George G. Premiesku, as the trio is called, stays true to their roots delivering deep house grooves, and are notorious for their live sets using analog gear custom made to fit their style. Noococ is a house bomb that we can imagine being played to a vibrant Ibiza dance floor. Luckily for us, they’ll be bringing warm beats like this to King King next week for us to dance the night away.

Artist Spotlight: Livio & Roby

6,450 miles. That’s how far Livio & Roby will have traveled from Romania to be here in sunny Los Angeles next Friday, and they’re bringing their iconic style of house and techno with them. Livio & Roby are masters of hypnotic music that encompasses all facets of house, minimal, and techno. To say that their music takes the audience on a journey would be an understatement; it’s much more than just a journey
it’s an experience. Read more

Field Trip Series: DJ Sneak at Origami, Tokyo

Origami Japan

Japan experienced a phenomenal year in regards to dance music. For starters, Japan’s cabinet removed the “anti-dancing” law providing a major boost for the nightlife environment in the country. But even prior to the ban being lifted, that didn’t stop Japanese clubs from hosting world-class talent such as Loco Dice, Delano Smith, and an arsenal of their own residents. This week is no different, with Origami Nightclub hosting the Original House Gangster, DJ Sneak.

DJ Sneak will be making his debut at Origami this Sunday December 28th, and like always he’ll be bringing his world-renowned house grooves. It’s a good thing that the law was lifted, because I anticipate that the dance floor won’t stop moving during his set. Sneak will also have support from local artists Iori Wakasa (Deep Tech Records, eMBI Music), You Forgot, and U-T before the madness of his set ensues.

Origami may not be the biggest club, but nonetheless it is still a hot spot in Tokyo amongst the likes of Air and superclub Womb. An intimate setting that provides quality bookings that help progress a scene with much room to grow. Some quality house music sounds like a perfect way to prepare for the new year in the amazing city of Tokyo. This one comes highly recommended to anyone that finds themself in the Eastern part of the world.
